My employer is sending me to Phoenix week after next for a few days. I've never been to Phoenix and I don't know anyone there either.
Any suggestions on good dinner places would be appreciated.
A live music venue rec would also be appreciated.

Thanks
The TeePee sounds good. I love spicy food, the hotter the better. The place that had green corn tortillas sounded like a possibility too.
Thanks again

As I said in Rummel's third link.
Daily Dose in Scottsdale. Chicken soft tacos are great. They do a good breakfast too.

I was just there. We went to Pizza Bianco, Cibo (Pizza), The Teeter House (Japanese, authentic as it gets), Vitamin T (Taco Place), Sam's (Southwest), and a beer bar called Copper Blues.
Cibo was far and away the best option. Pizza Bianco and The Teeter House are the two James Beard award winning places and I thought they were excellent. Be prepared to wait at Pizza Bianco, we waited for 2.5 hours in their guest house drinking and snacking on great appetizers.
Everything was in walking distance of our downtown hotel with Cibo being the furthest away. Spent a few nights at Copper Blues which had like 40 beers on tap. Surprisingly did not eat a lot of Southwest food.

Beaver Choice
I ate here a few weeks back. It was excellent. I had the chicken schnitzel cordon bleu. Everything there is prepared to order so don't go if you're in a hurry.

I was a little scared to click on a link for Beaver Choice.
I appreciate everyone's suggestions.
I am also very bored tonight for some reason.

closed.
replaced by a fox restaurant gastropub called culinary dropout.
here are some of my recommendations from years ago:

I would love a great southwest spot.
I highly recommend Barrio Cafe on 16th St. More of a modern and hip Mexican food menu than southwest though. Has any kind of tequila that you could imagine. For southwest you could try Roaring Forks in Scottsdale.
Cafe Poca Cosa in Tucson is worth the drive. It's a new-wave Mexican/Southwest food place and could be the best meal you ever eat if you find yourself in the Old Pueblo.
Other recommendations: I recently ate at Cowboy Ciao in Scottsdale. If you can stand being in Scottsdale, it's a very eclectic menu with GREAT food and an awesome beer selection.
I always take my wife to Coup des Tartes on 16th St because it's got a great French menu with awesome deserts. It's BYOB though.
I ate at a place called Circa 1900 for my birthday. Awesome bistro menu in historic Heritage Square down the street from the ballpark [NOW CLOSED]
Fry Bread House on 7th Ave. is good if you're in the mood for Indian fry bread.
If you're in the mood for Mexican, you could hit any number of taco, hot dog, or torta stands on the side of the road. Or go to one of the Phoenix Ranch Markets. Incredible selection of Mexican groceries and just ridiculously good food available in the cafe.
Go to Lux on Central for good coffee and pastries.

Tapas
Lola Tapas is on Camelback near the Biltmore. Good little Tapas place.
Lisa G's Wine Bar on 7th St is a great little wine bar with small plates. I am pretty sure the deserts are from Tammie Coe Bakery, another place you should check out for cakes and snacks. [Also Closed - replaced by a great little pub called The Main Ingredient]
Postino's (on 40th St I think) in the Arcadia neighborhood is a pretty hip wine bar with small plates and Tapas.
I'm not sure where you're staying, but my recommendations are slanted toward downtown/Biltmore/Arcadia because that's where I live. You might get different recommendations from someone from Snottsdale.
