“Let’s be clear. We discussed it with the clubs today and I think it is fair to say non-contract bonus payments were happening around the league ... and that’ll discontinue.”
But I guess none of those other teams are/will be under investigation

Roger Gotohell is a two-faced shitburger.

rodger pretends to care for player safety, yet continues to push for the 18 game schedule? Hmmmm

this is what it was about the whole time. God ell is trying to set an example. Everyone who played sports knows this is common practice.

frick you Roger Goodell.

He makes sure not to say pay for injury tho. He all he says here is that bonus payments were happening, which could mean ints, fumbles, special teams, etc... Still its the longer this goes on, the more ridiculous the length of paytons suspension becomes.

I wonder if this will help Payton with his appeal?

BJGE's cousin just told me the commisioner will review paytons suspension in May

So everyone does it but we get fricked because someone snitched. Awesome

Nope. Because they weren't questioned about it repeatedly - nor did those teams lie numerous times when asked those questions.
Does it happen at other places? Probably. Were the Saints made a scapegoat/example out of? Probably.
There's a clear distinction here though. It's one thing to say - you get 500$ for a special teams tackle. It's a whole different deal to say - you get 500$ for knocking a QB out of the game. Those are 2 different things - one is over the line...

Goodell straight up said it happened other places. We also wouldn't have been questioned had someone not snitched. That's a fact. These other teams should be punished for not being forthcoming with the info IMO. It's only fair

Tell that to the rest of the country. This was the biggest problem all along, the media pushing this as an isolated incident, and ridiculously hypocritical fans buying into it.

This will be my issue if Saints' players face severe suspensions. Part of the reason the coaches penalties are severe is because the Goodell felt they deceived him. Is he saying Saints' players also lied? If not league wide player suspensions should happen because they participated in bounty programs the same way Sanints' players did.

How do you know this?

How do you know this didn't happen with other teams?

My guess is the 85 Bear defense started it.
