My vote would have to be Jan Hammer's
"Miami Vice"
Other great ones:
Addams Family
Cheers
Rockford Files

Magnum PI. My alarm clock plays it every morning.
The Fall Guy was pretty good. TV shows today are better than the 80's, but their theme songs aren't near as good.

I think the 80's was the heyday for TV theme songs. Some really great ones in that decade.
I'm gonna come out of left field with one that is rarely mentioned: LA Law

Perfect Strangers is great
80's def had the best, the whole premise of the show was beautifully described. They aren't very popular these days, but I guess the trade off is more show running time?

Gummi Bears
honestly, this is probably one of the top five greatest songs ever written. even if you hate bears, you still love this song

The Wire... any show that has a Tom Waits' song for it's theme is the winner... bonus points for having different artist perform it each season..
