The Purple Goose Review

After walking into Northgate Tavern idly after a nice baseball game day drunk, a few bros and I was upset to learn that they weren't serving food....at 7 pm on a Saturday night
So we opted for another new place
The Purple Goose
While it was only the second day of business, I sure hope they can keep it up. Upon walking in, we saw it was $1 Bud light draft, $1 margaritas, and $2 "Goosetinis"
2 rounds later, cheese fries, boudin balls and fried alligator came out
While cheese fries typically don't vary much, TPG's variation was very nice. Seemed like fresh cut fries, sharp cheddar, bacon, etc.
Boudin balls were thoroughly impressive, nice and crisp, reminiscent of Tony's almost (They weren't our first choice, we saw housemade cracklins on the menu and immediately ordered it, but they were out for the night)
Entrees: peanut butter bacon burger- never had one of these, always wanted to try one, definitely different but equally delicious.
Burger with fried egg- forgot what it was called, but looked incredible.Burgers were thick and cooked right (i hate a well done burger)
I got chicken and waffles. I've been on a kick lately, and I blame it on GoYaya's C&W Wednesday
TPG's was nice, a boneless chicken breast, breaded and fried with a huge belgian waffle and syrup. Could use a little work (Goyaya's does a nice jalopeno honey) and I know it's hard to fry chicken perfectly, but it's definitely tasty.
Will be back

Thanks for the review. I plan on trying it soon. We're in need of good, inexpensive food by campus!!

Only when the bartender is slinging me free beers. Not sure if the one I'm thinking of still works there though. Haven't been there in forever...and that's certainly not a bad thing.

Anyone else been lately? Do they have a HH? Thinking about hitting it up before the baseball game tonight.
Only site I see they have is Facebook and my work doesn't think I should be allowed on Facebook, so no can do.

What's a HH?
Yeah, they only have a Facebook page, but if you check out MajorMenus.com and just pretend to be placing an order through there, you can see their menu.

What's a HH?
I figured that was a familiar acronym. Hell, I don't know what half the acronyms used on TD are.

Ah, chalk that one up to my stupidity. It probably is a common one.

Hmmm this could be a good call instead of walk ons.

I was there a couple weekends ago, had the pulled pork nachos which I thought were pretty good. Also had the fish tacos which sucked. Sat at the bar, service was good.
