If you come by, talk to Ramrod.

I was told today at work that I'd be "ramroding" a portion of the project. I did an internal TWFP (tiger woods fist pump).

My personal preference is for an EOtech but the aimpoint was given...errr I "borrowed" it from a military friend who "found" it laying around in storage where he's stationed.

Strongly suggest you consider taking down that particular statement

Sort of off topic but what are some of the top shelf AR manufactures these days?

Well, you've got top shelf, then close behind you've got still excellent. In addition to those already mentioned, Rock River Arms, Anvil Arms, Mega, and many others.

i'm starting a new build with that exact lower and have been looking at the BCM/LMT uppers. I'm still trying to talk myself out of a 6.8.

If you go the 7.62 route look up AR15performance. After a ton of research and calls he makes one of the best and most reliable 7.62X39 uppers out there. Cool guy to talk to
Tom I think is his name. He was in on the development and trials of the 6.8 also

Im loving this BCM upper. Forgot to mention that the bolt carrier group is an LMT. I'd start with the 5.56 upper first and buy new uppers in different calibers. 6.8 will be my third upper for this gun after I get the 7.62 first

Word of caution on 7.62. My first build was a 7.62 just for the heck of it. Good dependable mags are still kinda a pain to find. C products was making quality mags that fed well before they were bought out, changed ownership, or whatever. I have 5 of those that work well, but I'm not sure if they're making good Mags again. Armalite sells them as well but I think they're 70$ or so
Good Luck

i've got other rifles that shoot 7.62 so I'm going to do something different on this one. It's gonna be a 6.8 or a regular 5.56. if anyone sold 6.8 in bulk my mind would be made up..

I'm in the process of building a 6.8 right now. Build with a 20 inch bull barrel.

Also, I'd rather have different rifles as opposed to one lower for several uppers. They're cheap enough to build.
