I came across this article tonight on Fark.
Top 10 sandwiches in the world

Park way shrimp poboy made the list. I was thinking there are numerous NOLA sandwiches that would be on anyone's top 10 lists.

Central Grocery Muffuletta would be my top of my list. Numerous places have world class roast beef po-boys.

Dude, I was working on this exact list tonight! We must have something connecting our minds. I was going to do a top 10 non-po-boy sandwiches in NOLA Metro.

I know some will disagree but the steak sandwhich at crazy johnnies is one of my favorites.

Any such list that doesn't have Butcher's braised pork belly sandwich is worthless IMO. I know it's not a tradition yet, but it's life changing.

I haven't tried every sandwich in the NOLA Metro. This list therefore isn't comprehensive. The list also does not consider NOLA Metro po-boys. Although some of the sandwiches listed below are served on French bread, it is a French bread that is unlike NOLA Metro po-boy bread. An example of this are the tartines from Tartine. Because I have not included po-boy French bread po-boys, many great sandwiches have been left out. For example, a pastrami po-boy from Parkway is better than its equivalent at Stein's Deli, but isn't listed. Muffalettas and hamburgers are also excluded from my list.

10. Rachel (Stein's)
9. Fried Chicken Sandwich (Chick Fil A)
8. Hot Sausage Panini (K Paul's)
7. Mozzarella Sandwich (St. James)
6. Ham Sandwich (Tartine)
5. Salumi (Tartine)
4. Pork Belly with mint (Butcher)
3. Baronne Beast (Martin Wine Cellar)
2. Corned Beef on Rye (Kosher Cajun Deli)
1. Cuban Luau Sandwich (Green Goddess)

It's so good that 3-star Sylvain has tried to copy it. But the original is still better.

I love Casamento's fried oysters. I don't like them on bread. I also don't like their prices.

What an absurd top ten list. Parkway doesn't even have the best shrimp po-boy in New Orleans. It's a great one, no doubt, but not the best.

St. James had a great BLT but they took it off the menu a few years ago.

The irish dip at O'Briens Grille- Sliced corned beef and shaved prime rib on French bread, served with Creole & Dijon mustard, wilted cabbage, our horseradish sauce & served with a side of au jus (description of their menu)

Shrimp poboy at castnet would be next. I'm just big on shrimp poboys.

Also ate some pastrami type sandwiches while in New York that I also thought were incredible.

It's on the westbank on Hwy 23(or Belle Chasse Hwy) in bewteen Terry pkwy and Gretna Blvd. It's across from where Mudbugs(now a storage place) used to be. It's a white table cloth restaurant on the westbank(probably the only one on the westbank actually) and their food is really good.
