Ross threw out 10 of 59 runners trying to steal...that is only 17%. Snickeris only threw out 1 of 9, which is 11%. Those numbers MUST get better this year

A lot of that starts with pitchers holding the runners on too. It's something I don't think our pitchers have done very well for years.

This. Majority of the time, bases are stolen on pitchers. Now, a shut down catcher can make a difference yes but if u get no help from a pitcher, you better have pudge behind the plate

I heard Snikeris was playing well, and may end up in the outfield or DH. Any truth to this?

Snikeris disappeared at the end of last season. I could be wrong but I don't remember him starting much at the end of the season.

He was injured at the end of last season I believe.

Will have to wait and see how the rest of spring practice plays out but I don't see it happening.

Looks like Rhymes is going to fill in at DH and Slaid filling in for the last OF position.

I just moved to Tenn, do they do a sort of internet radio broadcast for all the games? I'm going to miss tuning in to 98.1 all the time.

No, the Geauxzone would be your best bet through LSU; however it's not free.

Almost all of the steals last year were on pitching. One of my biggest problems with grewe, didnt force pitchers to hold the runners.

I think I'll like the effect Dunn will have on Ross. With Dunn calling pitches, we can control the run game better, setting up Ty to throw out a higher % of runners.

I'd like to see Snikeris get some games early to keep Ross fresh. That said, kid was thrown to the wolves last year and came out fine. He'll be very good this year in the 7 hole, I think with a lot of production and RBI behind a solid top 6.

I agree. I really wish we weren't forced to play him last year, and were able to give him a year to adjust and get his offensive game down to match his incredible defensive game. Hopefully last year doesn't mess up his mind too much.

His mind is good, no thanks to the haters. This is a great kid that was thrown into a position of taking Micah's place. No one could have made the fan base happy. He was playing, pretty much, four games a week. I saw him in the fall. He was throwing base runners out with ease. But, going from high school to catching so much at LSU makes the legs tired and the arm weak if you are not used to it. So, his season stats were not as good. Thank you, fan base, for positive reinforcement. He deserves it.

Look. No harm intended. You are the first person on this board that has given Ty something to feel good about. No. I am not Tyler Ross.
