The one thing that bothers me, in an interview I think it was the TP he talks about the current D coaches like that they may be staying on board. Just so happens the only two left is where we have been really sucking. ( DL & LB ) It maybe just me but I am ready for Joe Vitt to go just don't feel like he brings whole lot to the table. Not sure how I feel about the D-line coach just yet.

Well well have 2 coaches on D that understand the new philosophy.....the others will just have to follow suit or be gone

Look what Joe Vitt has to work with, though.

Yep. It's hard to know which one it is. And people like to rag on Bill Johnson, but pretty much anyone will tell you he's one of the best in the league. It's also hard to tell whether it's him or the talent too. I don't care how many first round picks we have on the D-Line, none of them are that great (Jordan still TBD).

isn't telling that will smith has his best season, and we win a superbowl.

This team really is/was one nasty pass rusher from rattling off multiple superbowls.

seems like the defensive line was pretty good at getting pressure in the Super Bowl season, which would have been his first year here. I don't think we were stout against the run that year though. In 2010, the sack totals were the lowest in his tenure here (27) and Sedrick Ellis lead the team in sacks that year. I'm pretty sure we didn't blitz as much in 2010 as we did in 2011 either. I could be way off on this but may be there was more of an emphasis on stopping the run this year by the defensive line. I mean we brought in Franklin and Rogers two big guys to stuff the middle and the defense finished 12th in run defense this year.

I don't know, but I would give Joe Vitt a pass before I would with Bill Johnson. The pressure off the edge has really been lacking the past two seasons.

I get what you all are saying. Maybe it was the scheme that the DC was wanting. Who knows? But if we go by results the two left alot to be desired.

All 32 coaches at their position throughout the league will be said said they are well respected and one of the best. That comes with the game being there are only 32 openings at any given position.

These two have been here for some length of time and we have not really seen any difference. Maybe it is the players, but would like to see a change and not the same ole shite.
