Do you stalk around? Hide in a blind? Up in tree? What is the proper method for hunting these fierce animals?

Just depends on the area... I mostly walk around but if I come to an area that looks good, I'll sit in that area for awhile

i Seen one squirrel that was the biggest i've ever seen. That dude was running from one side of the woods to the other... crazy difficult to get shots on these guys sometimes i'd suppose.

Find feed, sit and wait. Shoot one walk a little further and repeat process 8 times. Pretty simple actually.

I drive around my neighborhood and wait for them to run in front of my car. I usually get 2 or 3 every day.

those are fenced in subdivision squirrels, that's like hunting a neighbors dog. I'm talking like wild uncivilized squirrels you know.

I walk around real slow right when the sun comes up. Just keep looking up and find where they are. Sneak closer and bust their arse.

If I know where a bunch are (usually find these areas during deer season), I'll sit in one spot for 30 min or so and wait them out.

I bait the field (my backyard) and then sit in my garage drinking beer. Shoot those frickers right out the window while getting bombed.

I was going to bring this up the other day since there have been a ton of threads about squirrel dogs.

I've always creeped down a 3-wheeler trail for squirrels. Usually kill a limit. If I get spotted, they'll usually crawl in a hole or knot and will wait me out.

What are the advantages of hunting them with dogs? Do they just sit on a branch waiting for you to blast them, or do they immediately get in a hole when they're treed?

Just be really careful though and make sure he's good and dead before you try and pick him up. My pappy was the best squirrel hunter in Morehouse Parish til he took a bite to the knee.

410 single shot is my favorite

use a 22 also, good target practice getting ready for deer season.
