stupid.

DP just voiced the frustrations of every single capable set of hands on the offensive side of the ball.

do you still wonder why there could have been a mass exodus at the WR position immediately after jan 9?

I was wondering just what the hell happened to this guy. I can remember seemingly every catch he made on the season. It was that few.

I remember wondering mid season "Where the hell has Peterson been?"

It sucks he was a victim to a handcuffed offense and I for one hope that it doesn't ruin his future at football because of it. He's not the first player though.

Whats worse is he had big chances at plays in that NC game. Jefferson never saw him. Jefferson never saw anyone. We never had a QB.

It's pretty clear that by his senior year the coaches thought he was the third best tight end on the roster. Maybe it was because he was just a fish out of water in this offense; a wannabe wide receiver playing tight end, but I never saw anything that led me to believe that the coaches were wrong.

How do you give a player "the finger" and tell HIM to "stay classy"? Get back in your Mom's uterus.

Peterson just another casualty of our QB situation IMO.

The same QB situation that got LSU 24 wins in the last 2 seasons but also couldnt consistently pass the ball.

With better QB play, Peterson might have had a few more catches but not many. For the most part, LSU is not to blame for his lack of production or failing to showcase his abilities. The criticism of Peterson is that he has good hands, runs decent routes but does not get great separation, and is a serviceable blocker at the college level, but his skill set at tight end is not exceptionally good in any area. He seemed to really struggle against Bama in the BCSNC. Maybe because he called Bama's LBs too big and slow to keep up with him. If he has a good NFL combine, he could get drafted in the 4th through 6th rounds based on his athleticism and potential. For him to make it in the NFL, he will have to catch everything thrown to him.

In my opinion only, he probably should have been redshirted as a true freshman.

The fans got on him last season when he pulled up against Ole Miss.

I hate to talk down a player but theres two plays I cant get out of my mind quits on a perfectly thrown ball
runs out of bounds
He has the mold to be a dominant force but could never put it together. Some was on lack of opportunities some is on him.

JJ should apologize to him.

why? the coaches never gameplanned to make our TEs a part of the offense consistently. Jordan's favorite target in those couple games he played down the stretch in 08? Dickson. did they expand on that the next year? no. most of DLo's significant catches came with JJ throwing the ball to him. he almost threw 100 yds to the TEs vs. Ole Miss alone in 2010. he was hitting Mitch pretty good vs. UNC. he hit Clement a couple times against Bama on 11/5.

I'm by no means absolving JJ of being part of the issue, but it just felt as though the coaches never consistently wanted to get the ball to the TEs, though Jordan showed he could. we imposed our running game on ppl, why not do that with the TEs? I thought that was the Michigan way.

Yep, he pulled up on the route so he didn't get hit. Fans jumped on him for that one, I thought was kinda funny.

No, man, the fans complaining is what hurts recruiting, not the squandering of talent by les miles and his staff!

The end around against Bama in 2010. He could have scored but ran out of bounds.

showed flashes, but still never put it all together.
Maybe would have been great with a legit QB, but we'll never know...hopefully he gets drafted late or makes a team. I always liked the dude.

Being honest about how you feel has nothing to do with class. I would prefer people say their true opinions rather than coddling others and saying stuff to make everyone feel good. Everyone knows that the receiving corp felt underutilized and were frustrated by it. Our lack of passing cost us the NCG and the early exit of our best WR, eventhough he would've been a 1st or 2nd round pick next year. It's not a secret. Guys with talent come to LSU to showcase their talent on the field so they can potetially make it to the NFL. When you don't get a good shot to perform due to someone else's ineptitude, then you get frustrated. DP is being honest about how he felt; some NFL teams might see that and stay away from him, others might see that and believe he is hungry to prove himself, which is a good thing. Either way, he just voiced what every LSU fan and receiving player felt this year down the stretch and in the BCSNCG
