No long sustaining drives later in the game to rest the Defense at the end of the game kept the game open enough and the defense tired enough for SF to squeak by.

It all comes back to the PT injury.

The lack of a competent defensive coordinator is what cost us this one

The point of offense is to score. We do that. It came down to the defense sucking dick like they've shown many times before that they are very capable of doing.

Sorry but even with a healthy PT we weren't running on them. It would have come to throwing it a ton anyway

Exactly.

People can cry all they want, but when you look at the nitty gritty it comes down to clock management. We didn't do it at the end and it cost us. Defense needed rest, SF needed less time on the clock.

Dude we had the lead TWICE with just moments left in the game, and TWICE the defense screwed up.

Turnovers hurt, but they are not the reason we lost.

Lack of run game hurt, but seeing as we had the LEAD with SECONDS LEFT and MINUTES LEFT at the end of the game, I'd say it wasn't the reason we lost.

Greg Williams is the sole reason we lost this game.

If you have the lead with 1 minute left in the game and the offense has to drive 80 yards, you play prevent and make the QB find an open receiver.

The 5 turnovers had a bit to do with it I think.

This is a joke, right? This was a vanilla offense all year long, and when it came to crunch time, we make them look all world. Piss off with your clock management. You score when you can score.

You mean the defense that showed up on all but 3 drives the entire game? Including drives with very short fields?

That defense? The defense that played about the same exact game it has played the entire second half of the season? You mean the defense that shut down Alex Smith for nearly 2/3 of the game?

Hmm...how did the defense falter? They were tired.

After PT got hurt we abandoned the run. Also blitzing 7-8 with 1:37 left in the game hurts too

Gregg Williams just mentally fricked up. Called a great game and then blew it at the end. When it counted. When we needed him.

frick him and frick everyone who defended him all year.
