Pac12 v Big Ten interleague agreement

All teams will play one interleague game each year. I love it. Way better than crappy FCS games, and creates more opportunity for some great games.

This is awesome. Here is a USA Today LINK
This should help avoid teams getting out of contracts and being left with crappy last minute fill in teams.

By 2017, each team's nonconference football schedule will include one game against a team from the other league. One could be featured annually as a preseason kickoff event, perhaps staged at the Rose Bowl. Others could be played in neighboring NFL stadiums, including the planned Farmers Field in downtown Los Angeles, the San Francisco 49ers' new facility or Chicago's Soldier Field.
Basketball games similarly could land in such NBA arenas as Los Angeles' Staples Center or Chicago's United Center, four teams sometimes gathering for doubleheaders.

Wow...which school gets lucky with Indiana and vice-versa Colorado?

Didn't realize it included Basketball too. SEC should do this with the ACC. The Vandy v. Duke game would be EPIC.

Michigan vs. Oregon would have been legit this year.

This is very good. The next step should be (IMO)for both leagues to play round robin schedules. 11 conference games plus the interleague game, hopefully rotated every two years.

BUT BUT BUT...THE PAC 12 AND BIG 10 NEVER TRY TO PLAY LEGIT NON-CONFERENCE GAMES.

Totally agree. Already have a few teams that play permanently anyway
UGA - GT
UF - FSU
USC - Clemson

But, the B1G never wants to do anything inovative like bring instant replay to college football or launch their own network.

Don't forget the WF-Vandy match-up that keeps ending up on the schedule.

Of course not. That's because the SEC invented college football.

Lots of strawmen in this thread.
BCS haters should not like this, it solidifies the B1G/Pac12/Rose Bowl circle jerk.
Its also going to be awesome when we get rematches in said Rose Bowl

USC schedule maker has it easy- 9 PAC-12 games, Notre Dame, one Big Ten school, and he has to schedule one game each year.

That would be interesting. Keep the in-state rivalries and match up the teams based on their place in the standings.
Projected football matchups based on this year's standings
LSU-Virginia Tech
Alabama-Virginia
Georgia-Georgia Tech
Arkansas-Wake Forest
South Carolina-Clemson
Missouri-N.C. State
Auburn-North Carolina
Texas A&M-Miami
Florida-Florida State
Mississippi State-Pittsburgh
Vanderbilt-Syracuse
Kentucky-Boston College
Tennessee-Duke
Ole Miss-Maryland
Basketball matchups
North Carolina-Florida
Duke-Kentucky
Pittsburgh-Alabama
Syracuse-Vanderbilt
Florida State-Texas A&M
Clemson-Missouri
Virginia Tech-Georgia
Boston College-Mississippi State
Maryland-Tennessee
Virginia-Ole Miss
Miami-Arkansas
N.C. State-South Carolina
Georgia Tech-Auburn
Wake Forest-LSU
The top SEC football teams would destroy the top ACC teams and the top ACC basketball teams would destroy the top SEC teams but most of the matchups would be pretty competitive. It would be fun to watch.

My assumption was a rotation.
This would make ACC v. SEC a bit more difficult. What would UGA/GT and UF/FSU/Miami do? These could count as their cross-league game, or they'd schedule a second one.
I don't think there are any existing yearly rivalries between Pac12 and Big Ten, so no issues there.
EDIT: yeah, the set rival might make more sense for SEC/ACC

Its fine in Basketball, where you have way more games to fill, its nothing but a stunt in FB and will get pretty boring after a while.

I'm not a fan of set rivals in football. it can get stale and it can also be pretty unfair to a team that gets paired up with a powerhouse.

This will be fun and keep things interesting. The Pac-12 league office has been doing some pretty cool things recently and increasing exposure nationwide.
