I'm pretty sure an ACC team won the NC in that time frame and UK did not.

congrats on that Dec win though means a lot

Oh look. Here comes an insecure LSU fan to downplay any success the SEC has actually had in basketball. I didn't see that one coming.

Only for the last couple years. They're 1-6 against Duke in their seven meetings and 7-9 against UNC since 1989. That's not consistently beating them.

Ok regardless I think this is good for college football, and in basketball this should happen anyway. All conferences should play preseason things against each other. No reason the Big XII/Big X can't do one, or the SEC/Big 10 or the ACC/Pac 12 in Bball

Regardless, UK is a much more storied program than Duke.

If UK is Bama, Duke is LSU.

Both elite programs, but when you look at the entire body of work, it's not that close.

Who is the "SEC" and what is this success? A Dec win over UNC? Congrats

How about a Final Four last year? Two NC's recently. I'm talking about over the course of history, or even the last 5 years.

LSU and Auburn fans love to put down SEC basketball. I can't say I blame them, though.

Sound like you are the insecure once cochise

Duke BB has been the program for the last 30 years, LSU has been at an elite leve in FB for less than 10. So that's not really a good analogy.

storied program is just code for we were much better in the past

4 titles to 2 since 86, 11 FF to 5, 6 going back to 84.

congrats on the 4 titles pre 1960 when the best players couldn't play for the appropriately named UK coaching legend

how about it? Who said UK didn't have a great BB program or team last year/currently?

You are bragging about Dec wins and claiming that makes you a better team than Duke/UNC lately. Maybe UK is this year, we'll find out, but who cares about a 1 point win in Dec?

Overall SEC basketball sucks, there is 1 great program historically and BB ain't FB, so rooting for the conference is even more stupid. I went to LSU, not the SEC

And while no one can claim LSU is remotely close to UK's success historically, I'd take our all time team over UK any day.

Outside of Duke and UNC, the ACC is not that great in basketball.

Don't forget, the ACC is adding Pitt and Syracuse

Maryland won a NC in the last 10 years. That's 3 programs with a total of 4 of the last 10 NC's, vs 1 program with 2 for the SEC.

Looking forward to it, but I wish it was a B1G vs SEC rotation instead.

when was the last time there was rematch in the Rose Bowl?

1987? Michigan State and USC. Both won by MSU on labor day in 1987 and on Jan 1 in 1988.
