https://blog.chron.com/newswatch/2011/12/uts-new-gop-student-leader-in-trouble-over-obama-tweet-too/

This topic came up when discussing the A&M job; A&M's "image" among potential recruits, as well as coaching candidates.

If Mack does indeed retire, will stories like this make the UT job less appealing? Even isolated incidents like this can cause quite a black eye, can they not?

Looks like this is their second incident in as many months...

WYHI? Quite frankly I disappoint. However, should I be in a blurred state I just might.

You didn't answer my question either.

And I'm only asking because this topic came up a few weeks ago on this board, but in regards to A&M, not UT.

President of UT College Republicans appears to post racially tinged tweet By Dave Doolittle | Monday, December 19, 2011, 04:20 PM A month after the then-president of the University of Texas branch of the Texas College Republicans came under fire for saying on Twitter that shooting President Barack Obama may be tempting, her replacement could be facing her own troubles for a racially tinged tweet she appears to have posted early Sunday morning. Cassie Wright, who is listed as president of the group on the UT website, posted at 2:46 a.m. Sunday, “My president’s black, he snorts a lot of crack. Holla. #2012 #Obama.” Wright was not available at the San Antonio phone number listed under her name in the UT student directory. “Because of student privacy laws, we are unable to discuss this matter in any way,” university spokesman Gary Susswein said. Wright replaced Lauren Pierce as president of the Texas chapter after Pierce in November posted on Twitter that people should not shoot Obama, even though it may be “tempting.” Pierce told ABC News at the time that her comment, coming after an Idaho man was charged with firing a rifle at the White House, was a joke. She later apologized on Twitter, saying her comment was in poor taste. In an interesting twist, Pierce retweeted Wright’s post about Obama.

Would after a few.

Lauren Pierce, their previous racist head of College Republicans? Ehhhh that might take a few more but it could be accomplished.

Are you seriously asking if a comment on twitter made by the head of a student political group will hurt football recruiting? Really?

Hell I can find better (more stupid and vitriolic) racism at any KA chapter anywhere in the Deep South. Nothing really scathing there by Paula Dean Jr, just tarded.

Someone help me out here. How does saying that he is Black constitute a racist statement? Saying that he snorts crack would be slander and defamation of character, but not racism. When Bush Jr. was in office everyone was calling him an idiot....no one was labled a racist for that.

You want to end racism in this country, get rid of the double standard.

Isn't Auburn one of the most liberal cities in the U.S? Then again, liberals can be just as bigoted if not more so than their conservative counterparts at times.

First off the girl is wrong, you smoke crack. And secondly, Obama didn't smoke crack. He admitted to being a cocaine addict.

Still, I don't see what was racist about her statement. The only thing that had to do with race was saying he was black........news flash, HE IS.

She's a Republican, there for anything she says is racist Anyone that opposes anything Obama does is racist in some people's eyes.

In any event, what the college Republicans say will have no bearing on FB recruits.
