Bass IMHO is our best on ball defender and is actually a good ball handler. The issue is he hasn't shown he can consistently shoot or finish well at the goal or make free throws. If teams are smart they slough way off him and play him to pass off drives and negate his abilities to drive and dish.
Some teams do still however give him some respect and when they do he can be effective driving and dishing.
He did hit a 3 pointer last game. The problem with staying off him is he will dribble right at you and into the lane. The thing is you have to keep him out of the lane so you can't give him too much room. Overall I think as long as we have shooters on the court we dont need a PG who can hit a ton of shots. I think his ability to find the open guy is what the offense needs.

I think when teams have played him honestely and tried to get up in him he's been much more effective.
quote:I know, but we both know the numbers there. He hit a couple when we beat State in Starkeville last year too, but not so much before of after.

But Bass will give it his all and play with intentsity every minute. Too many kids on the team this year can't look in the mirror and say that.

I'll be there with 2 or 3 others.

I can't really blame anyone. I bring folks with me and the product the last 2 plus years has not been good enough to where they are clamoring to come back.
It's really been awhile since the PMAC evoked past images. I'd have to go back to the NIT game in 2002 the last time I thought the crowd was really raucous.
Even in 2006 when we had that great Final Four team with exciting players like Baby, Tyrus and D-Mitch we had trouble filling the seats and even the few games we had decent crowds they mostly sat on their hands.

I thought 2008 Florida game was a great crowd. Last time I went to the DEAF DOME. (I've been to the PMAC once this season ) The attendance was 13,345 and LSU was #18.

I've had instances where the game was blacked out on my ESPN3 on the comp but not on Xbox. And vice versa.
I'm not sure if I'm going to go to the game, so I wonder if I stil can catch on TV. Anyone know of someone hosting a JustinTV link?

I was at that one. It was great by the standards of the last 10 year but that's very relative. There definitely were not 13,345 in attendance though the paid number could certainly have been that.

Many LSU students are still from in and around B.R., but this team needs to give them a reason to come.
I fricking HATE this mindset.
They already have a reason to come. The team on the court, wearing the jersey.
It's piss poor that the basketball only gets supported when they're winning.

Has LSU played Marquette since the 1970 NIT Final Four semifinal?

i think that was actually 07 when baby sat out the game. they were the defending champs plus the maravich maniacs were somewhat basketball edumucated back then and couldn't pass up the chance to heckle joakim noah.
eta- you may be talking about 09. that was a good game, i think we clinched the sec that night or the west.

I heard a commercial on the radio about how "Dig" the magazines sport editor was doing a piece on LSU's new defensive stopper Eddi Ludwig....please tell me it was a joke

I almost started throwing shite watching the last game. I think there was 3 straight possessions where he came down and jacked up a shot.
