Hmmmmm a free Pettit bobblehead may be enough to make up my mind about going.

Any way to confirm this is happening?

Marquette is going to beat the living shite out of us.

Wasn't when I was a student, but those were different times. Many LSU students are still from in and around B.R., but this team needs to give them a reason to come.

They could give them a reason with a competitive game against Marquette.

Problem is they are probably about 20 pts. better than us talent-wise on a neutral court and the PMAC isn't exactly a venue that gives the home team a big boost these days.

We'll have to come out with alot of intentsity and focus to compete, something we've only done sporadically this year.

I expect Hickey to have one of his best games. I think he is the type of player who will prove over his career to play his best against the best competition as he did against Kentucky frosh Teague in high school all-star games.

The X factor is Turner. He has been a bit disappointing this year IMHO. Until he can play up to the standards many here thought him capable of, I can't see us competing against the likes of Marquette.

Let's hope he shows up Monday.

Geaux Tigers!!

Great post. I agree with everything you said.

People aren't going to come out until the team gives them a reason to come out.

Marquette is just a lot better than us though. Going to be tough out there. Hopefully we play well. If Marquette comes to play, it won't matter.

Guess home field advantage means nothing. People showing up and creating a great atmosphere COULD help determine the outcome of the game. People going in there and sitting on their arse knowing "we'll get blown out" won't help determine shite.

I go to every game. I'm there whether we are awesome or terrible.

I'm just saying, the fan support you want won't happen until the team is good on a consistent basis. That's year in and year out.

I'm a fan of basketball. I want us to play well and win, but I also am interested to see a good opponent. Marquette is very good, and will be very fun to watch.

We don't have the talent to beat them.

I show up and leave my bloody vocal chords out on the bleachers...

I doubt anyone other than 10 students I know will, but hell, I will YELL... until the rapage is completed, or when the upset is finished. Whichever one.

To the guy who wants to bring his GF and her little bro. It should not be hard at all. I am a student as well buy my xgf likes basketball so I bought 4 tickets to this game when the came on sale. I now am single and bringing one of my friends that is a non lsu students. Point being I am selling the other two tickets for 5 bucks for the pair so I am sure you will not go broke bring her and him to the game.

Those of us outside the southeast should be able to stream the game at 8:00 PM CT on ESPN3.

It looks like the southeast gets a blackout, except for any local coverage.

congrats on graduating man. this will be a tough test. we can hang but for how long? they can't match our size but we can't run with them. very interesting matchup. johnson-odom is a player. i expect a spirited start but the eagles probably pull away and win by double figures. they make a living scoring on runouts and early in the clock and i worry about our jekyll and hyde halfcourt man defense but we'll see what happens.

also, my thoughts go out to stringer. basketball isnt even important right now. especially hearing about jeff green's situation with boston, hope everything is okay and he can get back to doing what he loves.

Nobody really has been able to match our inside size, but that hasn't always been taken advantage of.

Those bigs need to come with intentsity and focus. No fall-away 15 footers O'Bryant and White. Catch the ball and be quick and decisive. 6.5 rb. a game is fine for slender 6-8 types but Hamilton and O'Bryant honestly need to get more than that.

Kinda what I figure too. I think Hickey will show. I'm almost at the point of saying if Turner doesn't show up tomorrow I don't know if we're gonna see the Turner we thought we would for at least the rest of this year. I think he has the skills and talent and disappointed he has not developed and improved to this point this year.

Yes, as you know I'm not a big fan of how Trent coaches defense, but at least we've had some games where we've played well. Bottom line Marquette went into Madison and beat Wisconsin without their starting point guard. That says all it is about where they are, and though we've improved we're not close to that level. It will take alot of things we haven't seen this year, Turner playing to his capability, consitency of focus intentsity on both ends for 40 minutes, and good shot selection and FG percentage to even compete.

not sure who, but someone said he's been pouting lately because he isn't getting the ball and not hustling in the games.

his shot sure as hell hasn't been there so far this yr, but i would still like to get him some opportunities in the games.

he's most effective comin off a screen, rather than trying to shoot off the dribble.

he would be pretty tough to stop if he could get a better off the dribble game, that's for sure.

I've heard that too. Not sure if that's the case or if that's his usual body language. My perception is he doesn't have the fire within right now to do what it takes to be as good as he can be. Hope I'm wrong, because IMHO that comes from inside and can't be forced from without.

He was as aggressive as he's been all year Thursday. Looked for his shot and shot 17 times. Problem is he made only 2.

I long to see the kid who scored 20 in the second half against a good Witchita team last year. Have not seen him at all this year.
