If you could make a large $ donation to LSU, would you?

And how much? How much do you love the University?
Daydreaming and just curious, serious question here. Let's say you won Powerball or MegaMillions and it was a $200 million payout. How much, if any, would you donate to LSU and what would you expect from it?
I would donate $25 million.
I would expect lifetime season tickets for at least 10 people with premium box seating, inside access to all major sporting events including behind the scenes, and some portion of a building or facility named after me.

That sounds like a decent deal. I would want Mike moved to my Mansion off Highland and Les Miles would have to do his radio show in my living room.

I would do a 25 mil anonymous donation. And then pay a documentary film maker to "track" the anonymous donor and create some drama around it.
Ah....the shite you can do when you have money!

i would donate up to 50% of my after tax earnings; after i had established the appropriate trust to care for my children and grandchildren. however, i would not donate this to the athletic dept., i would donate it to the university and would dictate how it was to be used. it would be a gift to the college of business adm. and would be used for scholaships and for supplemental pay to attract top professors. just me.

Only if I can land my helicopter on the field before the game.

I've always said that if I had won the lottery I'd donate a large chunk to my church and to LSU.

$200 million payout. How much, if any, would you donate to LSU and what would you expect from it?

I bought a brick for Mikes place. That's about all the donating I'll do. I think I could find a better cause to give hypothetical millions to. Although that helipad does sound nice...

If I won $300 million in the lottery I still wouldn't donate to LSU. Administration can squander money like there's no tomorrow.
I'd find better ways to get the most out of the money.
I might offer to build a building or make improvements, but there's no way I'd issue a flat out donation.

This. I would endow a few great professors in Finance, Economics, and Political Science. I would give enough to the athletic department to have a healthy number of premium seats for any athletic event.

I would easily donate $25milly if I cashed a check for $1000000000.

The last time I made a "substantial" donation to TAF (NOT $25 million, but still a nice gift!!! ) all I got was my photograph taken with the baseball team on media day.

If I won $200 mil, I'd definitely give about $3-5 million to TAF.
I'd give it just because I love LSU, but I guess I'd expect to have my choice of 4-8 good tickets for every and any game played with LSU in it.

Buy the naming rights to tiger stadium for 50 years and name it "Tiger Stadium"

No. And hell no, too. Why should I subsidize Louisiana's government?
Posted on 12/16/11 at 11:32 am to Tiger_n_ATL
Sure.
I would put a few million into a trust fund for LSU + Louisiana College of Ag and Mining. I would require that it be kept in the fund until such time as the ocean rises up so much
that LSU + Louisiana College of A&M has to be moved north due to the rising of the ocean, or 200 years, whichever happens first.
My 3 billion dollar trust fund would pay to move LSU to Winnfield if needed, otherwise, it could be spent as the president and deans see fit.

I would buy as much land as I could outside the south gates and donate it to the university to expand the tech development area LSU has been building down there around Campus Lake.
Seriously, have you seen LSU's southeast boundary? Ideally, that would be straightened out to run together with the way the southwest boundary runs at Brightside.

Throw in a statue of Les Miles and Mike's offspring and I'd go 30 mil.

Not off of the top, but something in the neighborhood of 10%, if a windfall of that magnitude. Personally, I would establish a scholarship fund, probably for the medical school, or a foundation to fund a research grant for cancer research. I would try to get a suite at Tiger Stadium out of the deal, but that's a different discussion.
