Where did I say Richt should be fired? It's the other way around. I hope he stays at Georgia for a long time. You are WAY too sensitive, Nancy.....

Haha my bad, my brain was thinking one thing, but my fingers another.

Although i think it's silly to "want" coach Richt around just because you beat him in the SECCG. So far, we've both won an SECCG against the other, LSU won in Athens, and UGA won in BR (one of my favorite away games i've been too...seeing pick 6 Lee at his best). 2-2 against Les and you want him to stay? Well that's your opinion i guess.

The Houston Chronicle has a column about it.
So this must have legs, but aTm is also going after Sumlin quite heavily as well.

No, Sumlin is going hard at A&M. We are his dream job and he has ASU on hold for the 3rd time waiting on us. He probably waits another day or so if we haven't landed our big fish yet.

We probably land our guy today or tomorrow and announce Sunday. Whether it's Richt, Sumlin or another out of left field hire

If you land someone today it won't be Richt...we have our senior UGA Gala tonight to honor all the seniors. Recruits will be there as well as our entire football team, so even if Richt DID interview and IS interested, he wouldn't accept the job and do that to these kids.

The stars have aligned for Richt this year. Easy schedule to allow for an inflated record and TAMU coming after him hard for their head coaching job.

End result is a big extension for the coach they wanted fired just 11 short games ago.

By most accounts, Richt is a stand-up guy. He's a solid coach, and makes the SEC a stronger conference. I, for one, prefer all SEC teams to be as strong as possible. Sure, it may make it more difficult for LSU to win the SEC and NC... but, it keeps SEC teams in top discussion of college football. That makes the conference financially stronger and makes it easier for LSU to recruit.

All fans should want each SEC team to have the best coaching staff available. Better competition is good for the entire conf. (in my opinion)

yea, that god stuff has gotten richt some good karma. don't fear though folks, if he really fricks up we can still buy his arse out

i still don't think he has earned as big an extension as that, i'd give him a 3 year one with very little pay raise. i think he still knows that he has to continue to improve, our fan base is as fickle as they get

more like 3 months ago. UGA thought the first two games made or broke the season and he went 0-2.

If he re-ups with UGA I was right. He had serious talks with A&M and would either sign with Aggie or get a UGA extension.

Him not talking to A&M like these dawgs were claiming was 100% false.

Now do some monetwhipping Ags. I want to razz these dawgs some more

No, if he re-ups with UGA then he is doing exactly what was slated to happen before you fired Sherman. IFF he did go talk with A&M it was only to gauge their pay range as a reference point. This whole "serious talks" hogwash is silly.

Historically A&M is a great school and are back on the rise, but you think Richt would leave a school that he's been at for 11 years, fertile recruiting, entrenched family, close family ties and connections to surroundings, etc...and for what? Money?

I admit, that'd be a good reason, but Richt is a tad different than the Saban's of the land. Not saying it's not possible, but highly HIGHLY improbable that Richt was in any "serious" talks.
