Since they smack in middle of LSU and Alabama? Also being that a lot of MS are "saints" fans but then maybe bigger rivals with LSU than Alabama... anyone got a feel who they are rooting for?

honestly depends on where in the state....
gulf coast and along the border up to Natchez....LSU...
north of that, probably a pox on both their houses (Ole Miss penis envy!!!)
Jackson is pretty well split, with a heavy influx from both...
the Meridian area is heavy gump country...

My guess: agriculture vs. culture (or perceived culture in this case)
MSU for LSU, OM for UA
No way the Hotty Tottys would EVER root for the Tigahs...too much hate over the past 50 years.

And way too much losing.

Don't know why, but I would guess State fans root for LSU, while Ole MIss douchebags root for Bama.

take 20 from vicks to jackson then take 49 to hattiesburg then 98 to the alabama. south of that is LSU.

Being a tiger fan from MS no doubt MSU fans pulling for LSU, Ole Piss fans pulling for the tide. Although the black bears should be competing in this game next year according to them as Hugh Freeze is the next great coach. HA HA HA

I listened to MS Sports Talk Today yesterday morning here in Jack town--same old old, bitter, angry Bama fans calling into the show.
The party line now is that Bama has "1 tie on the season."
I feel enraged after listening to the Gump callers rant about how great their team is and how Trent Richardson is the best running back since Ingram.
I really wish a few intelligent and good humored LSU fans would call the show.

Being from Mississippi originally, here is my take.
The Gulf Coast and Southwest Mississippi usually have a great deal of LSU fans. Southwest Mississippi (Natchez, McComb, etc) has a lot of LSU fans because they are in the Baton Rouge/New Orleans television markets.
Jackson is evenly split. However, a lot of folks who are not MSU grads or Ole Miss grads default to LSU because LSU is that team!
North Mississippi is definitely Ole Miss and Miss State with a few Bama supporters and LSU supporters.

Living on the Mississippi Coast now, I can assure you it is heavy LSU. Hell, the former tight end Richard Dickson is an Ocean Springs boy and his brother plays now LSU #41

Just like the rest of the Country, they will be rooting for LSU!

The USM fans I've talked to are pulling for the Tigers.

In the Golden Triangle, it is all Alabama. I will be watching the game at my buddy's home in Steens and they are all Alabama fans. Columbus, West Point, Starkville is heavily in the Alabama column.

I just left the Academy in Hattiesburg and they had alot of USM stuff and almost as much Bama shirts and sweaters as USM. People, which I spoke to who have lived here longer than I, seem to like LSU more than Bama but they do sell/advertise for an awful lot of Bama products here.
