re: Rosetta is Right. This REALLY needs to happen...

For me, a simple explanation such as
"We were not prepared, I accept responsibility for that. In retrospect, while some may think we quit by not putting Lee in, I made the decision to leave JJ in and punt in 4th quarter because ___fill in blank____. We had a great year and the BCSCG is not representative of Tiger football. We will strive to correct our errors so that this never happens again. We have put it behind us and are moving on to the 2012 year."
would probably do it for me. Although I dont think anything put in the empty space would justify those decisions too me, it would certainly help me put it behind me.

LSU is a public institution as is its football program. LSU and its football program is bigger than any one person, including Miles, and it will be around long after all of us here are long gone!
Miles is merely the guardian of the program and he dropped the ball immensly. Dont think for a moment that if my parents gave me the keys to super charged sports car that I wouldnt have to answer to them should I crack it up.
To say Les owes the fans nothing is simply not the case. But for the revenue the fans bring to the table and the multi million dollar position he holds would be non-existant. Indeed, football stadiums were built and expanded to accomodate more fans.
I dont think losing to Alabama hurts as much as the way we lost. As for recruiting, I think what hurts most is the way Lee was treated. This did not start on 1/9...it started after 11/5. We were ahead by bunches after that in numerous games and Lee still did not play. And to send Lee in to take a knee against Georgia? After all that Lee did in the first part of the season? OMG! If I was a parent, I would have serious reservations sending my kid to a school who treated a kid like that.
So why doesnt Les come out and explain to ease the fears of the parents of the new recruits? I think because its indefensible. What hurts us the most is that it was carried out on a national stage.
Always purple and gold! Geaux Tigers!

Slow flow...does the rumor suggest some sort of fix?

Full blown conspiracy to follow: Ooh! Or maybe JJ was the real kicker and J. Lee went to the police to dime him out so that there would be no quarterback controversy. LSU "magic" happens and the charges are downgraded, but everyone knows Lee was the snitch. They hold onto him just long enough for JJ to get over his suspension. Les allows him to stay on the team but the other players let him know, in no uncertain terms, that they won't play with Lee under center. How does that work?
KA---frickING----BOOOOOM!!!....WOW! This would certainly explain the shunning by team mates.

this
may explain it. The next question would be what could JJ and family have over Les that would cause him to play an inept QB with a NC on the line? When Les was first questioned about his failure to put Lee in, Les said it was only "fair" that JJ stay in and finish. It was only after the media suggested to Les that Lee couldnt handle the pass rush, that he lashed on to that excuse. Whatever JJ and his family may have had on Les must have been something powerful.
The curious thing to me is why the team mates shunned Lee as well. I think out of fear of being black balled as well.

In order to keep something quite it is best to limit the information to only one or two people. We know Les knows and he will not talk. If only one other person knows the low down and it is either JJ or JL then we might never know. Especially if it protects JJ, JL and/or Les. The way I see it is that if this has to do with JL then Mett gets in the game with the NC on the line. If it about JJ then nobody gets in to keep him and/or his family happy thus quite. Remember les off the hook as long as JJ had a felony charge then when JJ gets back Les just can't demote JL because he has LSU O clicking. If you remember JJ gets in the very first game at the goal line to score. As the games go by pressure builds from JJ and/or family to start JJ. As soon JL makes his mistakes JJ takes over. Make no mistake, this is all about JJ not JL. If JL was the issue then Mett would have been playing instead of JL. Like I said in another thread JJ was the cancer.

I believe that comment actually came from Nick Saban who was coaching the LSU team at the time....not Les Miles

It will be an LSU beat down this time!!! So after 1/9/12 when the Gumps say "Yall didnt beat us we beat ourselves!", we can amusingly ask "Well which time are you referring too??"...lmao...they are delusional and need to set aside the Kool-aide!
BTW...seen where TM7 was voted 2nd behind RGIII...can you imagine the explosion we will hear from the Gumps if the Honey Badger beats Trent in the voting...lol

Living on the Mississippi Coast now, I can assure you it is heavy LSU. Hell, the former tight end Richard Dickson is an Ocean Springs boy and his brother plays now LSU #41

The Bama nation thinks we are scared and I laugh at the thought! The LSU faithful awake and yawn, read the paper, have a cup of coffee and then turn to the funny pages to see what Bama has to say....lmao....you gotta love the thought of that!!
