He's getting an unprecedented chance to play quarterback, when other guys never got the chance . Do you think GM will become more receptive to more of a learning curve for this spread, option QBs? They usually give up on these guys before minicamps and they end up playing WR, RB or S.

I think that Tebow is a spread QB yes, but durable enough to take the hits at least for now.

Can you imagine Denard fricking Robinson getting hit in the NFL that many times a game.

IF you want to make this statement, use Cam, not Tebow. Very rarely are spread QBs built like Tebow.

Cam newton is a better argument. That man has made a liar out of me in his rookie season.

But also not many qbs are built like cam, he's freaking huge.

I could see him as a return man, maybe even a halfback and used occasionally in some trickery.

No kidding. I scoffed at every one in my fantasy league going nuts to try to get him in trades a few weeks into the year because I thought rationally that he would do what most rookie QBs do, average at best. Well shite.

Yeah...I don't think you will see anyone seriously advocate for Robinson playing QB in the NFL.

He's gonna hafta grow... A LOT. Cribbs is not a small man. He's AT LEAST an inch taller and 25lbs heavier (and a lower center of gravity - thicker legs).

Obviously the issue with using a spread QB in the NFL is durability

You look at guys like tebow and newton, and while you dont really want your franchise guy taking a bunch of shots, they are more then capable of doing it

then you look at a guy like vick and you have to ask yourself how a guy like denard robinson would stand a chance like someone mentioned above

id love to see one of these mobile QBs with an offensive line like manning or brady, that would be crazy

I also wish the titans woulda put a little more thought into running the option with young and johnson I think that woulda been really fun to watch. It certainly was during the off season the year they did try it

Wtf? RG3 is a pass first QB with a polished release and great arm strength and accuracy.

His college game doesn't resemble cam's college or pro game at all. RG3 does not bring to mind cam, neither does cam bring to mind RG3

This is like saying Donkey Kong Suh has made Sam Montgomery a lot of money. They are different players who do different things on the field

ETA, RG3 is not a spread option QB

I think spread passing guys are getting a little more benefit of the doubt as we've seen guys like Colt McCoy and Gabbert get drafted higher than they might have in the past. NFL offenses spreading out more has helped as well.

can't see spread option QBs getting much love, esp. not based off Tebow, who's still a project (to say the least) as a passer.
