Hey, don't shoot the messenger.

LINK

If they are just dying to give it to us, I will take it. Just no ceremonies till after the BIG game. Don't need any distractions. Actually this article brings up some great points.

Thoughts on the article ?

I would take an AP title in that senario

The BCS or bust crowd is short sided and that laid it out pretty well

But lets take both home

I don't need to read the article. Sharing it my arse.

GeauxTigerTM said it perfectly:

I'd much rather teach BAMA the lesson that we all understood going in...and that's that the game on November 5th was REALLY important and we all understood that it essentially meant the loser was one. Allowing them a second shot makes that game meaningless...a shitty thing to do to our team's great accomplishment that night I think.

Especially not when you consider how much stronger LSU's overall resume would be even if it lost the BCS "title" game. The Tigers have beaten three teams in the top ten of the BCS standings. How many top ten BCS wins do the other nine teams in the BCS top ten have? Two. (Alabama's win over Arkansas and Oregon's win over Stanford). Two! LSU has two more BCS top ten wins than the rest of the BCS top ten combined. LSU has beaten every SEC team that Alabama has beaten plus Oregon, West Virginia, and if it wins the SEC title game, Georgia. Oh, and it also beat the Crimson Tide less than a month ago. Remember the game of the century, the highest rated regular season game in a decade? You can't even argue that this game took place back in September and that the teams are fundamentally different now. Plus, LSU won at Alabama.

I was also thinking back to 2003. If LSU had been left out of the BCS NC game and it had been $C and Chokelahoma, there would not have been any "controversy." The controversy is that LSU jumped $C and one of the media darlings was left out. The media would have been fine with the land thiefs playing the trojans that year.
This is why OSU, if they beat Zero U, or VT next in line if they win the ACC, should get in the BCS over Bama.
In 2003 we weren't one of the darlings. Hell, we still aren't compared to the gumps who have been lauded in their loss to us more than the Tigers were in beating them in November.

Alabama beat just three teams with winning records all season. Here are LSU's best wins: at Alabama, Oregon (neutral), Arkansas, Georgia (neutral), at West Virginia, Auburn, Florida. There's no comparison between these two resumes. LSU has more wins, a division and conference title, and a head-to-head road win over Alabama. Are you really telling me that Alabama winning a neutral site game changes all of this? If the BCS's slogan is every game counts, then if Alabama beats LSU in one neutral site game then the entire SEC regular season -- and the game of the century on November 5th -- didn't actually count at all.

I don't think Va Tech has a shot. We will play Bammer or OSU it appears

In the BCS, there are no split championships

That's one of the reasons it was set up

It's not shared. You either win, or you don't.

Best line in the article; "LSU has two more BCS top ten wins than the rest of the BCS top ten combined."

Don't really care if we get Bama or not, but if we finish the regular season (inc. SECCG) undefeated, that's a pretty awesome year.

Question: If LSU wins the AP and not the BCS...do we (the school) claim a NC?

This is all I looked at in 2003 and all I look at now. I don't even want the #1 vote in the final AP poll unless LSU wins the NC game.

Well apparently there is

And to that I say....

Thats the shite you get when the farging BCS decides to rematch a non division/non conference winner who lost at home, to the same team they are gonna play again, less than a month ago....Over other 1 loss conference champs. And all of this was decided before the conference championship weekend was played.

Can you find one instance where a school hasn't claimed an AP national championship?

Serious question

That wasn't the controversy. The controversy was that OU got in after getted destroyed in their conference championship game. The whole time, it was OU and then either LSU or USC. Once OU lost, it put those three teams with 1-loss, and everyone expected LSU and USC to play for the title because OU got crushed and didn't win their conference. Once OU got in, that's when the shite storm started.
