There's no proof that playing a big OOC road game makes a team better. Right now LSU would still be #1 if they'd played Louisiana-Monroe and Akron instead of Oregon and West Virginia.

You won't convince me that those two games didn't help this team tremendously into becoming the team they are now, even beyond the greatly positive perception they brought us nationally.

Never.

I believe Towson is 1AA or FCS. Jermon Bushrod for the Saints went there.

Not unless the SEC decides to go to a 9 game conference schedule.

TAMU takes the place of one of them.

I thought the SEC already declared they weren't going to add a 9th SEC game to the schedules -- at least not next year.

Unquestionably. Wanting anything other than the toughest possible schedule reeks of cowardice. Plus I hate spending $100 on tickets to go see Towson.

Edit: I remember when Towson basketball came to the PMAC. They had this one kid who had been the subject of an SI article four years earlier, when he was a HS senior, calling him the "Jewish Jordan." He had offers from Maryland and other major conference schools but went to Towson because they agreed not to make him play on Saturday. He played in a yarmulke. My fellow students made some remarks at him that did not reflect well on the university.

Amen. And as all the "Why do they hate us" whiners will atest the national perception IS important.

And does anyone else hear Vanilla Ice in their head when Idaho football comes up?.... "Rock the mic like a VANDAL!"

No we dont. After the OOC we had this year we have nothing to prove to anybody. I mean if Boise St can make it all the way to number 3 or 4 in the BCS with their schedule(which is FULL of Idaho's and North Texas') then we should be fine.

Agree to disagree.

I'll always hate crappy OOC schedules, though. Always.

All we did by playing Oregon was take a chance on losing a game that would've knocked us out of the national title picture. That's it.....nothing more.
