I've read several times on here how the Hogs running game (or lack thereof) is awful. Maybe some of you just look at the impressive offensive numbers and see that we haven't rushed for nearly as many yards as we've thrown for? Arkansas' offense uses the pass to set up the run. Most defenses gear up to stop the run, so BP calls pass plays to give the offense an advantage over the called defense. You want to blitz? Fine, we'll throw it all over. You want to defend the pass? OK, we'll run a draw.

Arkansas averages 4.5 yards per rush. How do we do that if our running game is terrible? 146.4 yards per game on the ground. Nothing that is eye-popping, but it doesn't have to be when you average 316.9 yards per game. We have 25 rushing TD's to 23 passing TD's.

Arkansas is not going to line-up and blow your defensive line off the ball and run it down your throat like last year. We will run it effectively though, enough to keep your defense honest. "Well look what Alabama's defense did to y'all and we're better than them." No, you're not. Your defense is good. So is our offense.

No, no, no... It's your run defense that is terrible.

Only idiots think Hogs can't run the ball.

Your skill players are good. Arkansas chooses to use the pass to set up the run.

Against Bama, Dennis Johnson, our best RB, got only 3 carries, Broderick Green didn't play at all, and Wingo's longest run was called back for a holding penalty.

With 4 WR's and Johnson standing next to Wilson in shotgun, its pretty much pick your poison for an opposing defense.

Sorry, Ray Ray. LSU by at least ten (I'm being conservative just to be polite).

Your offense will have to get the ball to put up all those numbers. In fact LSU will give them between the 20s. the problem is scoring on this D. You better kick field goals better than Bama and you better be able to stop LSU in the red zone or it will be for a long afternoon.

Good points. But, yes, our defense is as good as Bama's.

I agree with you scheme, and it works. I like the blend, but you face a great secondary, much better than Bama's. A D-line thats better than Bama's. The LSU linebacking core has been the weakness, but that has improved, much like your line. I'd attack the middle with the RB's and TE's, and those crossing plays, and then spring those draws in, ever now and then. Oh, on our Defense, we've given up less points than Bama, and only have 4 TD's scored against us in SEC play. You can argue which Defense is better, but points are the real test...advantage LSU.

Stay your arse on the sec rant. Hogs are gonna get da shite beat out of. You can crawl back to R-Kansas after the game.

Understatement of the year.

Throw the ball. Let Wilson try to pass like he did against Moo state. With Taylor, Reid, Mathieu, and Claiborne out there covering your WRs.... Might set the record for picks.

I appreciate your post. I'm not sure you realize the strength of our defense is our dline and secondary. We won't have to stack the box against your run offense bc our dline will be good enough to stop it. We prob won't blitz much as we didn't against west Virginia. I see us playing coverage most of the game with a 4 man rush. You will have to pass against a coverage package against the best secondary in the country. It should be a great game.

Y'alls rushing attacking is underrated, but try defending your inability to stop the run.
