What Will We Do When Lee...

And Jefferson are gone next year??? As crazy as this sounds it is going to be weird not argueing about who the better quarterback is next year..all of the Jefferson and Lee talk will be no more..I might actually miss it...anyways we all know who the starter in the off season will be..Zach Mettenburger, but what about his competition? Anyone think Rivers or Randall or a new face recruit could come in and give him a little battle for the spot? I think it would be good, always is..I've seen high school and juco footage of Mett and the kid looks promising..seen limited footage of all the other guys..also, I don't know how our offense will change with a true pocket quarterback in there every snap..read option wont be as effective..maybe give Shepherd a chance over there to mix things up for his senior year?? I know its next year, but its always fun to look at and talk about..if there's no Lee and Jefferson..what will we bitch about next year?

Its Mettenberger's job to lose next year. I doubt Rivers will be ready, but wouldn't be surprised to see Randall get situational PT like JJ earlier in the year. But Mett will take the majority of the snaps.

I'm hoping that the past is an indicator of the future. Before '08, when there was a clear #1 QB(JR and Flynn), that guy played almost all of the snaps. Yeah, Flynn played when JR was hurt, and Perriloux was used in limited spots as well as starting due to injury, but we knew whose team it was.
JJ and Lee are unique in that in 4 years, neither one has been able to distinguish himself from the other. I have to believe that if Mett is what we all think he is, he'll be the undisputed starter with Randall being the Perriloux role. Time will tell

Lee and JJ will find a way to make it back on the team next year somehow...It feels like they've been QBing the team since 1998.
Next year it'll be the ZM vs JR debate, the good news is we will only have two years to put up with that controversy and by then, Les will have hopefully won us two more BCSNCGs.
