Powerman, there is a reason why nobody likes your version of chili. It sucks dick. Traditional is not always better. And in this case, if what you are calling chili is in fact traditional, there is good reason why it has transformed into something edible. If you brought that red pepper stew looking pot of shite to a chili bringing party, it would be the last thing left. You started off by saying the guy was "fricking up" by adding ground beef. And yet everybody else in the free world seems to prefer it that way. Congrats on being traditional and a condesending fricking prick at the same time. And have fun eating that intestinal wrenching pot of 500 pepper stew by yourself.

Because it's quicker to make
Not because it tastes better

Well, I think you just about covered everything, Mr. Balls.
The plate with the Mexican stew and rice didn't look appetizing to me, but maybe it's tasty.

Don't knock it until you try it
Hard for me to wrap my head around people actually preferring low quality ground beef to tender stewed meat.
Would you rather have ground beef or carnitas on a taco?

I use high quality ground beef and I prefer that on my taco's as well. Carnitas are okay, but not my preference.

Not the case with me. I usually prefer taking the longer route when I cook something. I cook chili the way I do because I like it that way.

I popped into a neighbors house shortly ago. Guess what she was cooking? Juicy Jumbo hotdogs with Winn Dixie white buns, chopped onions, shredded cheese in a bag, Mt Olive relish and several cans of Austin HOT DOG CHILI sauce.
So just to be a jackass and in honor of each and everyone of the posters in this thread I ate two of them with an ice cold Barqs.
My wife will be pissed at all of you around midnight.
Man they were good.

I was thinking the same thing. The texture, color, overall make-up. Doesn't look like any chili I've ever had.

I like my chili w/ ground meat. 1/3 deer, 1/3 beef, 1/3 pork preferably.

Talk about ironic but my mom stopped by my apartment earlier and guess what she brought me? A container of her chili The ground beef is delicious and it goes great with a cold beer and MNF

You know, you can grind sirloin or filet or kobe or whatever.
