UVA fan's First LSU Experience--All I can say is WOW...We are HOOKED!!

My son and I had a truly memorable experience and we are definitely hooked on LSU football. UVA games are fun, but the atmosphere and expectations are marginal compared to SEC ball. Our identity is academics first, similar to Vandy, and that's OK, as UVA is a very special place. It just won't satisfy my appetite for big time college football.
The best way I can describe what I experienced is that LSU football games are not just games, they are a significant event that the entire state embraces and takes part in. While I understand that the atmosphere gets even better at night, it was still leaps and bounds ahead of what we have. It was everything I expected and more, including the hospitality shown by all.
There were several people that helped us and welcomed us to town. LA Birdman, TigerHead, Tiger1969, Billder, Tall Paul, Jason and everyone else that assisted me, thank you VERY much for everything, ya'll were awesome! Tiger1969, sorry we didn't get a chance to meet, I must have just missed you. I'll get up with you next time. Also, there must have been 30 people that approached us over the weekend, reading the dialogue on here and seeing us in our UVA shirts, welcoming us to town.
The only problem this weekend was getting my 15 year old on the plane to come home. The sights kept his head on a swivel and he fell in love (many times over).
We plan on coming down for 2-3 games per year from here on out. As a result, I've decided to change my screen name. From now on, I will be known as WahooTiger1.
Thanks again! GO HOOS! GEAUX TIGERS!!

Glad it was so memorable! It is addictive! Please come back and make a night game (if we ever have another night game). It will be what you experienced Saturday afternoon, but on steroids!

Glad u had a great time. When you find out how to change ur screen name let me know. I wish I would have known about how everyone does screen names. I would have chose differently. Maybe the only way is to start a new account. Please advise me if you find out. Thanks

I saw y'all walking around.
I assume there wasn't more than 2 Virginia fans on campus.

We spend so much time on here breaking each other down and scrutinizing this team of young men to no end...
It's so great to here that it's still fun for people. Your son is lucky to have you, I started going to LSU and Houston Oilers games with my old man. Now he's old and I'm a grown man, and some of our best memories are cheering on our beloved teams.

Did you see the tiger walk? Seeing the band march down the hill and play gave me cheers.
