wahoo, if your son is interested in LSU, y'all should take a look at Honors College....if he's as bright as i'm assuming....he can get just as good an education there, have a lot more fun, and he'd have a shot at a full ride.....

Butch, would love to hear more about that. Where can I find more info?

Thanks! Think I'll keep wearing UVA shirt so we can keep meeting people. Of course, the food and booze isn't bad either!

What made you go to an LSU game?

Just curious.

I've always been attracted to the game atmosphere here. My kids started rooting for LSU after Katrina.
Very pretty part of the world. Live in VA Beach now
Had a Ferdi at Mothers in NO on Friday, ate at Walkons on Friday night and had alligator at tigergeads tailgate. LOTS if beer!!
Speaking of Victory Hill, I grew up in Lynchburg, at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains. So when I got to town on Friday, I went to the stadium looking for it and couldn't find it until someone finally pointed it out to me. I started laughing

Friends, I think it should be renamed Victory Slope or Grade
Thanks Billder. Had fun in Walkons See you next time.
What an AWESOME start. That TD was literally right in front of us. We were in 215
Speaking of politics, the political brass in LA needs to lobby CBS to have Saturday night football every weekend. Or maybe get ABC/Espn to pick up the SEC when the next deal is up
We saw the team and the band with LA Birdman. Had a "birds eye view"
Houston, I agree. Love doing this stuff with my kids. Have a 12 yr old as well but he was in a baseball tourney. Will bring him next year
Bayou, I think without question, we were the only 2 wahoos there. Several people stopped us and spoke of friends or family that either went to or go to UVA though
My son and I had a truly memorable experience and we are definitely hooked on LSU football. UVA games are fun, but the atmosphere and expectations are marginal compared to SEC ball. Our identity is academics first, similar to Vandy, and that's OK, as UVA is a very special place. It just won't satisfy my appetite for big time college football.

The best way I can describe what I experienced is that LSU football games are not just games, they are a significant event that the entire state embraces and takes part in. While I understand that the atmosphere gets even better at night, it was still leaps and bounds ahead of what we have. It was everything I expected and more, including the hospitality shown by all.

There were several people that helped us and welcomed us to town. LA Birdman, TigerHead, Tiger1969, Billder, Tall Paul, Jason and everyone else that assisted me, thank you VERY much for everything, ya'll were awesome! Tiger1969, sorry we didn't get a chance to meet, I must have just missed you. I'll get up with you next time. Also, there must have been 30 people that approached us over the weekend, reading the dialogue on here and seeing us in our UVA shirts, welcoming us to town.

The only problem this weekend was getting my 15 year old on the plane to come home. The sights kept his head on a swivel and he fell in love (many times over).

We plan on coming down for 2-3 games per year from here on out. As a result, I've decided to change my screen name. From now on, I will be known as WahooTiger1.

Thanks again! GO HOOS! GEAUX TIGERS!!

What's up Birdman. Sorry we missed y'all last night
We are at the bar sitting at a table. Have a UVA hat on. Come on by
Ok. We have our name on the list. Let me know if you're coming this way and I'll change the number of people.

Where you gonna be tomorrow again?
