Some of the best shrimp and grits I have ever had - get it with a poached egg.

Make one helluva' burger too.

Agree. I've liked everything I've ever had there. I don't think you can go wrong.

I'm not sure what you mean. Place is really reasonably priced.

I forget what I had but I wasn't overwhelmed. It was good but not great.

This is pretty much how I would describe the whole place. I also think that's exactly what it's aspiring to be.

it is pretty reasonably priced, in my opinion.

Shrimp and grits, BLT sandwich (w/ a fried soft-shell crab), and chicken & waffles were all great. hog head cheese plate was also fantastic. we've gotten good raw oysters there as well.

It's not August. It's a different type of restaurant. All of Besh's restaurants are different. This place isn't high end fine dining. As someone said, it's exactly what it aspires to be for the class of restaurant that it is. It's not going to blow you away. It's not meant to. It's better than the average bear for that type of restaurant, in my opinion. I guess it depends on what you're looking for.

Go between 3 and 6 and get 50 Cent oysters and half off drinks. I like to go there at that time and usually me and the wife will eat 4 dozen oysters with a few beers on the cheap. Some of the best oysters I've ever had came from Luke.

I appreciate that you went the extra mile to add the umlaut.

The dots thingy above the 'u'? I had no idea what it was called.

Yeah, that was impressive, wasn't it?

Across from the Pan American Building on St Charles. Maybe a block past Poydras towards Canal. They have a great oyster bar at happy hour, but I can't vouch for the cooked food.

IMO the worst of any Besh restaurant. Good for a burger but for anything else I would go somewhere else.

It is very cheap compared to the rest of Besh's places. Well worth the money.

Besh's steakhouse is easily worse than Luke.

While it's true of a lot of places, it's particularly true of Luke - it matters what you get. I've had some really tasty meals at Luke and some really mediocre ones.

I still haven't made it there to eat a full meal, but go the bar for oysters fairly often. They have a decent selection of beers and bourbons, so I love the 1/2 price happy hour.

I'm actually heading down there to meet some people this afternoon for oysters and drinks, maybe I'll stay and eat after.

went there for lunch a month ago. Think Cochon wood tables/booths without the unbelievable food. It's attached to a hotel I think and gets some weird foot traffic
