Info on the link below suggests we would replace UF with the 14th team (WVU?) and TA&M would be come UF's permanent opponent.

Hope that doesn't happen.

Any substance to this?

That's a terrible idea. I hope there is no traction to it. I don't want WVU in the conference, let alone have them replace one of our signature games on the schedule each year.

That would be a long road trip every other year.

Could happen anywhere. With SEC TV money they can hire extra security. Not excusing what happened, but it won't be a factor under consideration, IMHO.

This is a GREAT idea. I want to win more championships and we will have a better chance to do that with FLA off the regular season schedule. I'm ok with just playing them once a year in the SECCG.

Just a Florida fan making stuff up to trash talk LSU. Nothing to see here. Move along.

Of those vehemently opposed to this, how many attended this weekends game?

What does this have to do with not wanting to lose UF as our permanent opponent.

Highly unlikely.

When Arkansas and South Carolina joined the SEC, they became each other's permanent cross division opponent.

Team #14 would likely be paired up with A&M.

No current SEC East members have anything resembling much of a history with A&M. Just as Arkansas had little history with anyone in what became the SEC East.

When A&M has played current SEC members in the past, it was by and large against Arkansas and LSU: LINK

This makes zero sense. And I, for one, absolutely lone playing Florida every year. It has turned into a tremendous--not only SEC--but national rivalry. Would be sad to only play them every 4-6 years or whatever.

Should have elaborated, I meant for the ones citing this weekend as a reason. I get not wanting to lose UF.

I have heard some similar rumors, although it was both LSU and Florida asking for it to end, not jut LSU.

a quote from the OP, further down. A. like LSU as some special pull that florida doesnt B. we'll coast while they struggle? kinda like the east vs the west right now. C. this guy sounds like a super credible twat waffle

Makes no sense.

Whoever the new east team will be ( and I think it's VTech) will be the Aggies' constant interdivisional rival.

It would be the Military Rivalry that makes sense, since both teams belong to the SMC (Senior Military College) designation.

They're practically tethered at the leg to UVA after it took the Governor to get the ACC to drop Cuse the first time around and take them instead. VT won't go anywhere, especially not at a 20 mil buy out.
