Sue the school- I'm sure it will hurry up the investigation and find the a-hole that did this

Sue the school for what? It didn't happen on university property, and as of yet don't know who it was, or even if they were students. Suing the school at this point is a waste of tax payees money. Everyone is so sue happy now a days.

Hopefully these idiots are found and held responsible for their actions.

well.....I'm just glad it didnt hit me. Who throws a full can of a beer across a long parking lot into a crowd of people? I guess everyone does it.........as I've gotten more mature and grown up, it's not worth hurting someone over loosing a dang football game. We are going to have this type of people in every crowd. Hopefully the guy and is wife will be ok;-)

it's been a constant theme on this board.

SEC A.D.'s are probably aware of this and will consider all incidents when scheduling ooc games.

I'm sure Pitt is walking away from the Big East the same way Tina Turner walked away from Ike.

WVU is liable for this event. The "Purple Lot" was a sponsored lot for the game by WVU. They are definitely liable for the safety of those who attended the game by parking in the Purple Lot. This is a slam dunk. WVU's insurance company would not even fight this.

Go back 4 years on this board......

You won't find the amount of incidents or disgust in a fan base more than yours.

So sorry this happened. I dont understand how people can get so crazy over a game. Praying for this guy and his family. I cant believe that noone stepped in to help this guy out, especially if there was a pregnant women involved. Just sad and disappointing. To all LSU fans- if you ever come back to Motown you are more than welcome to our tailgate. If anyone fricks with you they wont for long. I so hope they find the a-hole that did this and prosecute him to the full extent of the law. That guy must be a real douche.

You are right, but what the hell 6 goats, a couple of burned up couches, and a new hairdo for the coach is small potatoes, pretty light load for the insurance company. All BS aside I hope Marcus takes em to the cleaners

As I have said many times in this thread...all real CFB fans condemn this kind of shite. Sorry but it happened on your campus. The assault probably could have happened ANYWHERE, but not the sitting-in-their-cars-and-watching cowardly behavior of the bystanders.

Props to you. Fandom should never extend to violence...if this is the reason behind the attack. We don't know for sure that this is the reason.

WVU did wrong for not providing a safe environment for its patrons whom they make millions of dollars off of. Also they sell alcoholic beverages at their events and have a history of providing an unsafe environment for their events. They are definitely wrong.

furthermore, i hope the family tries to get this to news outlets to make west virginia, as a state and university, look really backwards and redneck...though i don't think they have a booming tourist industry

It's these responses I don't get. What an arse backwards way of looking at things. Reading this very own board you will find multiple Tiger fans who very much so enjoyed their visit. Yes it's true there apparently was an assault on an LSU fan but all indications would make it seem like the attackers were unaware of the allegiance of the victim and the car. Right now what we're looking at is a crime, if the poor guy chosen to be beaten isn't a Tiger fan then this board never hears about it. WVU didn't jump this guy, the other tens of thousands of WVU fans didn't jump this guy, the state that is home to so many hard working individuals did not jump this guy, 3 low IQ'd individuals (key word here) did this.

I understand you're angry, but to come at the state, school, and people with personal attacks and wish harm on them is ridiculous. As has been stated many times over, this could very well have happened any where. Unfortunately our reputation precedes us, as a result when this happened it didn't take much work to like the powder keg. Your views on the subject require some serious extensive rethinking.

And for the record the state has a huge tourism market.

I'll say my piece again ... every school has "those fans" ... BAMA had them when I walked out in 2005, UK had theirs when we left the stadium in 2007 ... UF had their when we left their stadium in was it '08.

I hate to say it, but not all LSU fans are angels like us on this board.

Hope this guy heals quickly.

To the Mountaineer fans that were gracious hosts, thank you.
