Really?

but at this point, I suppose it's possible that the B.R. prosecutors just Nifong-ed this thing from start to finish.

Bingo, the detectives rushed the process too much. Lowry and the girl that was with him came back to the scene an hour after the cops showed up, that's plenty of time for them to cook up some kind of story. Also seems a little weird that the only two people arrested both have JJ for their initials. Maybe the girl didn't see them do it, but heard somebody yelling out the initials and mistook it for something else. The vast majority of wrongful arrests are because of witness mis-identification testimony. Also a little weird that the "victims" needed an attorney the next day, hell they had an attorney way before the players.

word has it there are multiple eye witnesses who all saw different things

it may be impossible to tell who is telling the truth

that is what the defense is banking on

grand jury is going to hear witnesses who directly contradict each other they will have to decide who they believe

Not really. All they have to do is agree that the confusion requires a full trial, and issue an indictment.

you may have hit the nail on the head-

why should they make a decision when they can pass the buck like everyone else?

I heard in the beginning that someone that went to Catholic High with Lowery recognized Josh Johns and yelled out "hey that is Josh Johns" and that is how she got his name.

There are a lot of people assuming that Jefferson gave contradicting statements to the police, these same people need to look into the statement Lowery gave police on September 4 when he said the truck that hit him swerved onto the shoulder and hit him, after continuing to be question he recanted his statement and said he lied.

Wont even be mentioned to this Grand Jury

The charges are on the JJs. The Lowery incident has no bearing. You would also have to have a police report where the female accuser misled police? She also ID'd JJ

Speaking of that police report, I was surprised to hear Bienvenue say in his interview yesterday that Lowery was on the ground and didn't know who kicked him, and that JJ was identified by other witnesses.

I don't have the report saved anywhere, but I'm almost positive Lowery told the officer in the report that it was Jefferson and Johns who attacked him.

It's not prosecutors; its the BRPD.

The prosecutors never officially accepted the charges, hence why this is going to the Grand Jury.

Yep, this case seems to be a real big "egg in the face" situation for the BRPD and the police chief who wanted his 15 minutes. Well, he got them, and if the JJs are exonerated, I'd imagine regret is going to really sink in and probably already has.

It's not the prosecutors who charged them, it's the BRPD. And it's very believable they would be that incompetent.

Can someone please explain something for me. If Jefferson did not do it and all these people were out there fighting and screaming, then WHO DID IT? Didn't people see who did it???

because that's not their job. their job is not to prove innocence or guilt but to say whether there's enough evidence to warrant a trial. the former is the job of a jury. i wouldn't be surprised at all to see this go either way, although i'm leaning towards it not going to trial.

I'm afraid the judicial process will top the college football process every time.

This appears to be more of a distraction for us fans than it is for the players. imo
