FSU's D is the X-factor as well FSU's running game. If they want to turn this into a shootout it won't end well for them.

As for us, we need to put the game away early to take some of the crowd factor away. If we start with turnovers early and shite à la Missouri last year we're fricked.

until proven otherwise, i'm going to assume that landry jones is a turnover machine waiting to happen in big games

that's one major thing i'm looking for in this game. you can call that the X-factor, or lump it in with FSU's D

comparing to last year is unfair to FSU, b/c they were learning a COMPLETELY different defensive system. their D should be much more comfortable within the scheme this year

because quite simply, they cannot. why in the world are the noles #5. by far the most overrated team in america

This I wanted to start this thread 2 weeks ago. FSU will get a beatdown. They are simply not as good

I wonder how Jaccobi McDaniel has turned out. He was a top HS DT prospect and I hadn't heard much about him during his time at FSU.

Bama and OU have proven their current players and system are amongst the elite, yes couting last year. A lot of same players and coaches. On the other hand there is 0 evidence for the noles

So the only valid reason for being in the top five is proving for a few years that you are among the elite ?

So a team can never be ranked in the top 5 unless they have been ranked in the top 5 for a few years ?

So you think FSU should be a top 5 team?

Thought this was interesting...

LINK

quote:

Since Stoops took over in 1999, only four nonconference opponents have been ranked in the Associated Press Top 25. They were No. 18 Oregon in 2006, No. 24 TCU in 2008 and No. 20 BYU and No. 17 Miami in 2009.

OU went 1-3 in those games, only beating TCU.

Weird that the article left out FSU; I thought they were ranked when they played last year when admittedly OU wiped the field with them.

They were, and this is an irrelevant stat because those rankings are pretty much preseason rankings. For example, Cincinnati wasn't ranked in 08 hen we played them but I'm sure they finished the season ranked after winning the Big East.

OU may win the Game but FSU will be in it till the END. BUT I think Fisher AND FSU need a statement game. They will come out fired up and Fisher is familiar with how to stop a Stoops offense[2003].
