The first down stick is slightly bent in that picture, and the camera angle is slightly off. A statement came out saying that the very nose of the football was touching the stick, I'll trust their judgement.

If the ball is touching the stick, no matter what the camera angle there will be no light showing between the ball and the stick. Unless maybe the laws of physics are different at Auburn.

Even College Gameday made reference to the difference-"well, that's a touchdown in some games and not in others...".

Ross, we said the same thing-so which church does the replay official go to?

Don't fret. We'll make sure they have no shot at the trophy when they come to BR. I do agree it gets old seeing them win after giving up 50 points.

Moo St also gave up 28 points at halftime... LSU beats down Moo St... I don't see the hype...

I think we win no doubt. As I said I didnt get to watch. I was thinking Moo would have pulled this one out this year. Being the "Dan Mullen has them on a whole new level factor" everyone has been going on about.

The MSU players had a great vantage point and they did not react as if the ball was touching the stick.

Are you saying the rule is different b/t conferences?

I know the transitive properties DO NOT work, but I cant help but to look into MSU victory over Memphis.

Memphis got beat by Ark St, a SunBelt team 47-3. They gave up 613 yards to Arky St. I have never bought into the MSU hype this year. God, I hope I am right.

Not different than the NFL...rule was changed couple years back and ball has to been inside of pylon (or hit it).

They don't place the ball on the chain, it's placed off to one side. Therefore, the nose of the ball will never touch the stick. As far as the angles and all that other shite there is no way to know for sure unless you are standing over the ball or perpendicular to the chain. There is no way for us to know for sure from the camera positions. I think it could have gone either way from what I saw.

Doesn't matter. The plane extends out of bounds, it was at least worth a review.

Edit: Or is this addressed in the "exception" to the rule (4-2-4-e)?

MSU put up 600+ on Memphis
Arkansas St put up 600+ on Memphis

MSU put up 500+ on Auburn
Utah St put up 400+ on Auburn

They may beat us if we don't play well, but it won't have anything to do with what they've done in the first two weeks. They put up well over 500 against Memphis last year as well....and they managed to cross the 50 twice in our game while being completely dominated.
