I just try to avoid "locks of the year" like the plague.

I know the transitive properties DO NOT work, but I cant help but to look into MSU victory over Memphis.

Memphis got beat by Ark St, a SunBelt team 47-3. They gave up 613 yards to Arky St. I have never bought into the MSU hype this year. God, I hope I am right.

This is good info. It looks neither MSU or Auburn can play defense. Should be a good match up for the Tigers

If the ref say first down, no one not even the barners question it this morning. The Ref's will be raked of the coals this week by the SEC.

Seems like the SEC office has to issue "statements" like this a couple of times every year...and they almost always are defending calls made by refs in games involving either Bama or Auburn at home.

It's long been said that whenever you go on the road to Tuscaloosa or Auburn, you have to beat the officials as well as the football teams.

I know I personally signed over a few hundred dollars to the general fund. Do what you gotta do.

What the heck were we supposed to do with the Cam Newton money for this year now that he's gone?

You should have put up at least half of that on Russell Wilson

There was a lot of debating on how much Wilson was worth. The fear of him not learning the offense well enough so soon caused us to think that paying off the officials might be a better investment.

While I understand falling back on tradition (Auburn paying off the refs) it would be silly to overlook the results that one simple well placed investment can yield.

Isn't that why the players always stretch to the hit the pylon? I mean, if all you have to do is cross the plane even out of bounds, why don't we see more players avoiding contact near the goal line and diving at an angle out of the playing field but still crossing the plane?

I mean, I kind of agree with you, but there are only so many funds to throw out there.

The debates were heated, to be sure.

The spot should have been challenged anyway. That dude got absolutely drilled. He didn't gain a nose hair. You didn't need instant replay to analyze that.

The "ball" is not out of bounds, unless it touches the ground or the player touches the ground outside the field of play.
You can score a touchdown with the ball outside the field if you are inside the boundary lines when you cross the goal line.

Didnt watch the game but with that kinda yardage you would think they would have put up a W. Gonna be tight Thurs.

Two horrible SEC defenses. Both have good offensive talent but neither will put up those kind of numbers on 'Bama or LSU. Neither as good as Oregon's offense.

Not different than the NFL...rule was changed couple years back and ball has to been inside of pylon (or hit it).

bullshite. Bush did this for the Saints all the time.

bullshite, he had to reach the ball inside the pylon. It used to be that the line "extended around the world" so as long as you didn't touch out of bounds you could launch yourself 10 yards out of bounds and still score. It aint like that now.

I didn't realize the rule was different from the NFL.

It's not. The ball must cross the plane of the goal-line inbounds to be a legal score, at every level of American football.
