Lee didn't lose the game. Anyone who says he played great doesn't know football and should hence forth be ignored. Sorry. He has more heart than anyone on the team bu he is still throwing off his back foot. Also if Jefferson would have been playing while the missnap happened he would be eaten alive for it. I hope and want Lee to have a great year. It would be a great story, but he did not play great.

you need to learn to read also. I pointed out weaknesses in that team. I never said the O was great that game. go back and read. yes the O was bad that game also and we may have lost anyway, but two of the UF TD's were what I described as a weakness. Ole Miss scored a TD that year like that also. technically we could say those TD's cost us the game. could have changed momentum no?

Lee was what 10-22 with one TD and no Int's lastnight. And how many balls were dropped3-4? He easily could have been 15-22 so ill take it for the first game of the yr. This team is a damn strong football team. Our O line did a hell of a job, espcailly in the second half!

so you think we looked THAT bad?? the passing game needs work, sure... i came away from that game pretty assured that despite the obvious weakness at QB that we have a club that is capable of winning 13 games and getting to the NCG...

mauck had bad games against UF, Ole Miss, and UGA (1st time) and we lost 1 and almost lose the other 2

flynn was horrible against UK and left way too many points on the board in the firs thalf against arky

you are proving my point that they weren't "great" QBs and you are eating up any credibility i can really give to "good", the way you are describing them..

we have both this year

i know, but i was saying so did those teams... having playmakers you can rely on when you can get them the ball at WR/TE and RB helps a QB tremendously.... as it will Lee this season

OK he didn't do ANYTHING else the rest of the year. THOSE games are all that matters.

Since JLee is playing for a BCS team, he probably qualifies as a "good" QB.

What you want is a star QB, maybe even a super-star.

Like JaMarcus, right? *snicker*

SO??? That doesn't make him a gunslinger. Ya know Jake I thought you knew a little about the game. But in this thread all you have proven is that you DON'T KNOW shite.

this team would be amazing with JR at QB. possibly in the argument for best team of the BCS era (assuming the D and RBs hold up)

Can you imagine how much more pleasant it would be to be a fan of LSU without fans who find fault every chance they can get. I am tired of the "Yes but.... crowd".

Jamarcus was a lazy MFer who failed miserably as a pro, but as a college QB he was a legit star.

i feel ya'.... you'd swear we pulled an Auburn last night and had to use last second heroics to escape with a win... but we didn't and they still complain...

so much complaining about what we don't have, yet take for granted what we do have....

That's all I really wanted from him last night.

I would love for Lee to "blossom" into a great QB this year, one who wins games for us with great throws, etc. But I'll gladly settle for him being that QB who manages his game, makes the throws he has to make when he has to make them, but spends most of his time handing the ball off to Ware/Ford/Blue. You can only win as much as your QB allows you to win. As long as our QB doesn't lose the game for us,our defense and running backs can win it for us.

linebacker's ability to cover backs out of the backfield, cost us the Uf game

That was a bad game - but I remember the backs being just wide open - blown cov rather than lack of ability. I think in that game Saban was outcoached - hard to believe considering who was on the FLA sidelines.

quote:

we shoulda blown OU out if not for the TO's we had. 3 i believe

After the TOs Saban became ultra-conservative and nearly cost us that game. He just gripped really hard.

And you may be right - that may have been the weakness, but it's just hard to find one on that team - that UF loss still stings.

f you are talking an Andrew Luck type QB LSU would NOT lose a game and every game would be a blowout

too much speculation! How do you know how good Luck would be playing everyweek against these type of defenses.

Thank you SMD it would be nice to have some better receivers but they are young and they were all jacked up last night which makes it a little harder to have soft hands. They will come around and all the dumb arses that don't know football will realize Lee was not the problem last night.

And yes they should have thrown to Reuben more but you do realize a QB has progressions to go through and he is taught to throw it to the first one if they are open so the coach might should have called a few more plays for Reuben. Yes Reuben was one on one a few times last night but when it's 3rd and 12, you hit the receiver in the numbers that's breaking across the middle for a 13-14 yard gain just like Lee did but they did not come down with catch. He threw almost every pass so that only a LSU guy could catch it without throwing it at their feet.

But to you picky bastards that are never happy, you do realize Lee only made about 2-3 bad plays that did not result in a mistake last night. He made the smart throws and was the most calm QB we had in the pocket since Matt Flynn, looked very comfortable and did not hold onto the ball too long like that piece of shite QB in jail.

His receivers had some drops that would have made him look like a freaking all sec QB last night if they could catch a softly thrown but tight spiral that hits their freaking hands.

I was very impressed with Lee, give the guy some freaking credit for wanting to play for you WHINEY arse BASTARDS THAT CAN'T EVALUATE shite ABOUT FOOTBALL!! You know they do not need a QB that throws for tons of yards every game.

Ask Oregon why they can't beat LSU, AUBURN, or BOISE ST. I will tell you it's because Oregon lives in a fantasy world like half of you that the only thing you know about football is how to play the freaking Xbox or Playstation. You when football in the real world with fundamentals like an NFL team by blocking, tackling, running the football and playing defense, how many win the superbowl with poor defense. The Saints won the superbowl not because of their offense but because they played defense and created turnovers.

LSU plays their best athletes on defense and that's why Darron Thomas would be a DB at LSU.
