After reading the hate filled vitriol and blatantly racist garbage they were posting on Jeffersons face book fan page last night. Many of these idiots were women and mothers of soldiers. This night was a black eye on our armed forces and I hope those who were posting death threats and threats of physical harm are violated to the fullest extent of the law. Reprehensible

Check out the LSU facebook, as well. Sad.

I had to stop reading after only a second...

I dont do the facebook thing, but I heard about this and I'm completely shocked and disgusted.
A buddy of mine is a former Marine and he was equally disgusted.
Wouldn't have expected that from this group of people. Maybe my perceptions are just wrong.

I have complete confidence that this Lowery guy started the fight. He said something he shouldn't have and got what was coming to him.

Many of them openly posted threats and listed their real names. Surely this can be prosecuted

I'm fricking embarassed. I showed it to the Major and the Gunny (both Marines) across the hall, and they couldn't believe it. I think they may try to introduce some of these guys' IRL superiors to their online selves.

Him being a marine is a moot point.
Also, most of the marines I know are HS screw-ups that always seemed to stay in trouble. TIFWIW.

holy crap no it wasnt, no matter what a few marines said on facebook. Not to mention that what the "mothers of soldiers" say doesn't reflect on the Armed Forces.

I myself am a service member and after all of the above mentioned I am quit embarrassed! Us in the Armed Forces are suppose to have character as we represent our respective branch. Even spouses, parents, and family are suppose to represent with dignity , not this BS they are putting up! SHAME ON THEM!!

Post some examples of what they said

agree. I've met alot of Marines in my life and the majority are not like that....but its not uncommon to meet some to say the least.
I was in the Navy....pulled into a base in Washington. Got in an all out brawl with about 10 of them leaving the on-base bar because they called a friend of mine a "f*gg*t" and started following us back to our barrack rooms.
Got a letter from the base commander in Washington when we got back to Hawaii commending us for beating their arse cuz apparently they bullied everyone on the base.

The thing that amazes me is that many of these people making the threats truly believe that the guy was in his service uniform and was just out minding his business.

Lol. I like using violated instead of prosecuted cause I saw it on a sign in a convenience store one time.
"Offenders will be violated"

yep. it appears that they have already tried and convicted the players without facts and without proof. most people believe what they want to believe; and that is a fact. it pisses 'em off if you prove them wrong; their "truth" becomes violated. the more i see these people attacking the more i hope the players walk even if they did butt stomp them excessivly.
