It'll be like matter vs. anti-matter.

Keep the turf in mind...Oregon's speed advantage they had all year was completely negated in the national championship game by that miserable watered-down sod, everybody kept slipping on it all game, so to judge Oregon's speed vs. an SEC defense solely by the championship game is a poor measure.

Playing on fast artificial turf in Jerry's house, it is going to be a big test for LSU's defense to stay disciplined in their lanes and not get caught overpursuing. The key to stopping Oregon's offense has always been getting consistent pressure from the DTs to disrupt the timing, if LSU gets penetration up the middle it could be a tough day for the Ducks.

Speed at the line of scrimmage will be the key. OU has three new starters. That's a lot of meat to replace in one year. Usually takes a while to gel. Those tackles will be mumbling to themselves by the middle of the first quarter watching KeKe, Adams and Montgomery whizzing by them.

LSU easily.

Agility + quickness + speed = breakneck SEC speed.

You make a good point about the turf. I hadn't considered that as a factor until now. I think overall we may have more speed, but if we do it's close. It's the tempo of Oregon's offense that we have to keep up with more.

Side note: for only having 7 posts, I have appreciated them. Very objective overall with some solid insight.

Or I could just go by yalls 40 times, and compare them to our 40 times...

early in the season the defense will always be a step ahead of an offense anyhow.

combine that with the speed and power advantage we already have. doesn't bode well for their offense.

i'm not saying we'll hold them to a goose egg, but i don't think it's realistic they score 25 points on us.

Don't think your 40 times will help stop Oregons tempo.

Oregon's ballcarriers out of the backfield will likely be faster than all of LSU's front 7. With Oregon's playfakes and misdirection, playing effective defense will be more about gap assignment and recognizing where the ball is than simply pure speed.

Abandon hope, all ye who face the mighty Blur Offense!

Don't think your prissy little pictogram playbooks are going to threaten us, Richard GreicBro...

No, but having all summer to prepare for it will. Kind of like when yalls offense got shut out by Boise a few years ago.

And our defense is a lot more talented than that Boise defense

no, but as you showed with Auburn.

get hit in the mouth for 3 straight quarters and that tempo will be nowhere to be found in the 4th.

leaving the ducks flying home with their tails between their legs.
