I keep seeing this sentence wondering how much truth there is to it. Are they really that buddy-buddy? Do they have laws set up like texas schools to keep them together?

If shite hits the fan in the Big(12-3) I'd assume OU will have to make a move somewhere. Would they really pass up tSEC or B1G due to oSu if their conference goes to shite?

I don't think Stoops or the OU admin would want the SEC anyways. They would prefer an easier road to a BCS/MNC game, same as Texas.

It depends on the other options. If they have a decent option to stay with OSU they'll take it. E.g, PAC-whatever.

From what I've heard, there's political pressure for OU to bring little brother along.

I'd say that most of said political pressure is probably being applied by T. Boone Pickens, who has donated tens of millions to Okie State's athletics department and will be funding the best facilities in the Mountain West if OU doesn't take them along to another conference post-Big 12.

Hundreds of millions. Wish we hadn't cut him from the basketball team.

Because there's only two significant schools in the state I think it would be very tough. OU doesn't seem to want the SEC either so I would be surprised if that happened. I think both will go to the PAC, and the thought of schools like Stanford and Berkeley playing Oklahoma State makes me

Why is Oklahoma a more attractive option than Clemson or Florida State again? We sure as hell don't f__king want Okie Lite.

BINGO! It is easier to win the BIG XII than the SEC West.

Then why not A & M, OU, OSU and Missouri? Kill the Big 12 and add some solid programs, not just teams (as opposed to Clemson, GT, VT)? This would require a "reordering" of SEC West

New SEC West:

Arky
LSU
A & M
OU
OSU
Missouri
OM
MSU

New SEC East

Alabama
Auburn
Georgia
KY
UF
Tenn
Vandy
USC (e)

I bet this doesn't work in reverse. I'm thinking Okie Lite would set a new land speed record moving to the SEC with or without OU.

What will be will be. we'll get used to it and new rivalries and traditions will develop, but this:
quote:

New SEC West:

Arky
LSU
A & M
OU
OSU
Missouri
OM
MSU

is not the SEC in any universe I'm familiar with.

I would hate that. It'd be LSU and OU slugging it out for their spot in the SEC CG every year. If, by chance, OU, OSU, and MO joined the conference I bet the SEC would follow the new Big 10 model and create crazy non-regional divisions.

If they were to sit down and think things through they should consider it.

They're in roughly the same boat as A&M -- the second-best program in a state where the top program is a national powerhouse -- but in a state with far less D-1 football talent. They have done better since the formation of the Big 12-2 since they now have access to Texas recruits throughout the state on a regular basis by playing Texas and A&M.

A&M has (finally, I hope) decided that it has to differentiate itself from its rival in order to somewhat level the recruiting field, and it has chosen to do so (again, I hope) by offering to said potential recruits the opportunity to participate in SEC football, the most pro-ready conference there is (don't forget that EVERY SEC team had at least one player drafted in 2011, even Vandy).

Oklahoma State needs to ask itself the following question: if we follow OU to the PAC-12 or the B1G, can we realistically compete for Texas recruits when OU plays Texas every year while our best hope is an annual matchup with Texas Tech? Or would we be better served by joining A&M in a move to the SEC, where we can still recruit in Texas and build up our program?

OU first will be where Texas is...Stoops likes his one big game to be with them (usually wins) and he has a quicker path to the BCS as long as he beats Mack Brown.

There is no reason really why either OU or Texas would join the SEC...they want to be the prima donnas in a mediocre conference and just could not stand the heat that they would face every week in the SEC.
