I don't want any of that third-reich'ish school in the SEC. blech.

As for recruiting.... aTm to the SEC definately works against LSU's recruiting in the State of Texas.... we always had that advantage.

I'll be counterintuitive and say that the SEC going into Texas actually further legitimizes LSU's efforts there.
I think LSU will have more to gain by being an SEC team in the State of Texas than LSU might lose to ATM in head to head recruiting

If you ask TAMU, they will tell you they want more opportunity to show their skills.
If you ask LSU, they will tell you to frick Off...the Big 12 is a bunch of pussies.
If you ask the SEC, they will tell you that TAMU coming to the SEC means $$$$$ for TV time in Texas.
As a tiger, who wouldn't want an easy win against a school with loads of pathetic dorky traditions. Dogs' graves with their personal scoreboard to keep an eye on the game at Kyle Field? Really? PUKE.

I have mixed emotions about this decision. A&M and LSU have a storied rivalry, even though we hadn't played them in a regular season game since 1995. Adding them to the SEC brings that rivalry back to life and into what I predict will be LSU biggest rivals (and LSU will be A&M's biggest rival). That rivalry will very quickly become one of the premier rivalry games in the nation.
It also brings in television revenue to top the PAC-12's recent deal.
Now, I have family that went to Texas and have many friends that went to Texas. I've always liked the Longhorns. With that said, UT caused this to happen. They've been arrogant bastards with their negotiations and screwed other great programs such as Nebraska and Colorado. It's sad to see but maybe it's the karma of the old SWC and how SMU, TCU, Houston and Rice were all thrown under the bus because Texas was above them.
Anyway, this will move the Aggies from under the hated Longhorn spotlight and into their own. They are making a great move into the finest conference in the nation while Texas is losing its most important rival which isn't good. It takes rivalries to make college football. You have a love-hate relationship with them that you can't live without and at the same time you give them the equal respect you expect them to give you. UT didn't do the latter but instead wanted a marriage of where their partners were to be loyal to them but they could have whatever they wanted. Nebraska, Colorado and now A&M have told Texas that they are out because they've found someone better.

There was no SEC chant this week. But that doesn't mean A&M is 95% in favor of going to the SEC.
1. It was SMU and the Con USA.
2. We are still waiting on it to be officially announced.
3. There is a thought that it should be first chanted on Thanksgiving. Though I have a feeling it will probably come out during the Baylor Game.

It might happen during the Arkansas game. With both schools chanting.

that would be a great time! Both Arky and Aggie presidents would be there...

I've always said they should make the announcement at half time of Ark/A&M game, have the AD's, chancellor and Slive out on the field for a little presentation, then the whole stadium chants SEC.
