If I remember correctly the field was in pretty crappy condition. The grass looked nice but it wasn't settled and was moving and tearing up quite easily

I volunteer my services to hold the cash. 20+20=40 for a couple of months of interest= yeah I'll do it. I say two months because I am safe but a little slow on the dole out.

I aslo think Newton had kind of an off game. Dyer fricking destroyed them though.
This, if you go back to our game he couldn't pass on us to say his life but ran arse crazy due to the fact we couldn't stop a goshdamn nose bleed that day, remember Ontario going for like 80 Yards on 1 play and Dyer going for over 100? We had to respect that gay arse triple option and Cam was able to do whatever he wanted on the ground all day.

He only had 329 total yards vs Oregon. I guess that's what you call containing.

I can't comment on what was happening at the NCG in the trenches bc I only saw that game on TV. However, I was at the LSU/Au game, 20 yardline, 9th row, and saw up close and personal that the Au line grabbed our D linemen by the jerseys, outside the shoulder pads and simply locked them up. Cam would do his patented two-step to the line and simply wait a second for a hole to develop then exploit it. I'm not privy to the Au playbook so I can't say to what degree those plays were designed to go to specific slots or how much room Cam was given to improvise.

To give him and the Au O credit, he made the most of his runs with a little good downfield blocking and some nifty running skills. LSU Tigers looked flat and confused. But if the refs had been doing their job, lots of those drive-sustaining runs would have been 10 yard penalties instead, and that would have been quite a different game.

This was at the height of the "Cam for Heisman" hysteria and LSU was the only team capable of stopping that train. Refs gave him the kid glove treatment that day, for a fact.

Leonides, I will take you on. You know, betting on gambling sites limit a guy as they only allow a guy to bet so much. But do you want to put some serious money down on this game with me? I am game if you are. I have 20 grand in cash in 100$ bills in my briefcase because I was planning on buying a new race motorcycle. As long as we both can arrange a neutral party to send our money to, that we both agree upon, that will mail the winner the total amount, I am game with betting with you on this site. Yes I am one to think my team is pretty freaking incredible and I am willing to put my money were my mouth is and on the line for this game. But are you? Talk is cheap but real money backs up words. You want to throw down some real cash on this with me or do you rather like to talk shite? Your choice if you are just talking shite or not or if you can truly back up your mouth with your money or not.

If I remember correctly, LSU tackled extremely poorly in the Auburn game. Oregon must have tackled better. I remember being completely frustrated that our players were getting to Newton, but weren't able to bring him down where they hit him. On one of the long runs he had against us, our players were in position, but for whatever reason, could NOT bring him down.

They contained Cam because Cam was playing not to get injured so he didn't damage his stock for the NFL Draft. PUre and simple.

Exactamundo! I posted before in another thread that it appeared that Cam was playing not to get hurt in that game. He would go down any time a tackler was near him. Against LSU he would run around, away from or over the tackler. He did not play like he played all year, like Superman.

Look at the game again and notice how many times Newton just went down with little or no contact. I wondered and stated during the game whether he was playing to not get hurt. Oregon did not see the Cam Newton LSU and the rest of the SEC saw. And it was not because of their great defense. It seemed obvious he did not want to get injured. Or maybe like some others suggested, he was already injured (back).

If the Cam LSU and the rest of the SEC saw showed up, the game would have been a runaway with the way Dyson was running.

Guys there is no way that Oregon is going to believe that Cam had an off day. I wouldn't want to either if I was in there shoes hearing about the Big Bad SEC! I do feel he had an off day and that he was trying to prove he was a passer "trying to avoid the Tebow combine treatment" for the NFL. Now I will say that I was impressed with Oregon's tackling and Matthews! I really do believe we will win this game by two touchdowns!Thee sad thing is whoever wins it doesn't mean they are the better team by the end of the year.
