Newton played a shitty game vs Oregon. Couldn't hit wide open receivers, fell when he ran on contact.

He was having some serious back problems in the game, but I only recall them mentioning it during the final quarter. Otherwise I guess they just prepared like almost champs for him.

He hurt his back because those oregon guys came up and laid the wood. I was impressed with their hitting.

Why? Oregon never contained Cam Newton. Check the stat line to see how many times Auburn passed the ball in the NC game versus how many times Auburn passed the ball during the regular season.

Malzahn, despite most fan's love of his offense, decided in the most important game of the year he would pass Auburn to victory over Oregon when he probably had his greatest advantage at rushing the ball.

Fortunately for Auburn and the SEC, Malzahn finally came to his senses during the 4th quarter and began pounding Oregon between the tackles with running plays and won a close game that should have never been as close as it was.

I may be seeing through purple and gold glasses, but Les Miles and LSU will not make the same mistake.

LSU 45 Oregon 21

As I said, check the stat line of the NC game to see how many times Auburn passed the ball versus how many times Auburn passed the ball against their regular season competition.

Oregon did not stop Cam. Malzahn stopped Cam with his dumbass play calling until the 4th quarter.

i guess they are used to it too. Doesn't Oregon runt he read option a lot as well or am i talking about of my arse.

you really can[t compare that game ti anything. it was two hugely offensive teams, that somehow ended up in a 19-17 game.

You think Chip Kelly and Oregon are so great? Tell me how many points you want and I will consider betting you in this public forum to show you how little you know.

Yes, Malzahn was a dumbass for his game plan. If not, then why did he finally decide to start pounding your sorry arse front 7 during the 4th quarter to win the game?

Newton had an off night. An SEC defense was decisive, as it has been for five years in NC games. And of course, defense must be the primary concern at that high a level. See LSU in 2010; LSU was one of the worst offensive teams in Div I ball. Fortunately our defense looks to be as good or better than last year's; and there are signs JJ is coming around. This all means LSU probably will beat Oregon but must realize Oregon is an elite team by all indications.

BisonDuck, I respect you and the information you have posted on this site, but if you truly belive Oregon is great as opposed to SEC schools, then it simply shows you have not watched or experienced much football.

I respect Oregon, but your program is far from great. And I hope you don't truly believe that Oregon's game against Auburn is a barometer of what will happen against LSU on September 3rd because you are in for a rude awakening.

I watched Oregon's spring game and most of your starters could not play 2nd string for LSU, in particular on the line of scrimmage, which is where the game in won and lost.

I appreciate Chip Kelly's clever offense, but it is a gimmick to mask your lack of talent against superior athletes.

However, as LSU defensive coordinator John Chavis said a couple days ago at LSU's media day, there ain't nothing you run that we haven't seen already.

Good luck.
