How'd we get so small at DT?

That's one area of concern for me... we are one injury away from having real trouble up the middle.

Our defensive backfield is incredibly deep with talent. We could reach way down that list and probably still be as good as most teams.

Both Brockers and Johnson are over 300 lbs. Don't know how that is exactly light in the middle but........whatever

good list of the roster broken down by positins. But just an unlikely random guess as to what the depth chart will look like.

Ford at 215 now. Nice.

That surprised me a bit as well. But, that's a great sign. I love our RBs.

240lbs seems like a lot

Do we redshirt him?

This team is really really young too. Not too many guys graduating this year that's really going to be a killer, aside from LB.

LB scares me the most and although the OL losses look rough, LSU consistently recruits big time OLmen. Seems more an inexperience issue rather than lack of talent.

Quarterback
1. (6’5, 223) SR. Jordan Jefferson
2. (6’2, 206) SR. Jarrett Lee
*Shouldn't be a huge drop off at QB with Mett right behind them

Fullback
2. (5’10, 239) SR. James Stampley
*Assuming Copeland starts this year, losing Stampley won't hurt

Tight End
1. (6’4, 235) SR. DeAngelo Peterson
3. (6’5, 268) SR. Mitch Joseph
*Sucks to lose a weapon like Peterson, but Clement, Edwards and little Dickson should be able to fill the void just nicely

Left Guard
1. (6’6, 301) SR. Josh Dworacyzk
*This sucks.

Center
2. (6’3, 304) SR. T-Bob Hebert
*Also sucks, but with PJ, we'll be OK. More of a hurting just because T-Bob is backup C and G.

Right Guard
1. (6’4, 290) SR. Will Blackwell
*Also sucks.

Right Tackle
2. (6’5, 281) SR. Greg Shaw
*No biggie

Defensive End
1. (6’5, 255) SR. Kendrick Adams
*Sooo much depth at DE, LSU won't notice this loss

Defensive Tackle
3. (6’2, 285) SR. Dennis Johnson
*NBD

Outside Linebacker
1. (6’0, 236) SR. Ryan Baker
1. (6’2, 223) SR. Karnell Hatcher
2. (6’1, 223) SR. Stefoin Francois
*BIGGEST KILLER.

Cornerback
2. (6’0, 177) SR. Ron Brooks [Dime]
* Not a huge loss considering where he sits on the depth chart. LSU's been reeling in the DB talent as well.

Safety
1. (6’0, 194) SR. Brandon Taylor
*As much as I love BT, LSU did just fine when he went down last season. He's a great, great athlete, but still replaceable with young talent.

3. (5’11, 195) SR. Derrick Bryant
*NBD

The X-factor that could come into play is people leaving early. Let's hope that doesn't happen.

You forgot:

Quarterback

6. (6-0 184) FR Jared Foster

Otherwise, great thread!

Gore at 5'9" 166? Yikes, he's gonna get creamed if he plays.

They said he actually lost 9 pounds over the summer

if he can be quick and agile enough at that weight. Has there been any elite fullbacks that weighed that much? If he can get out of the blocks fast enough at that weight he could be awesome, if not, he may just be getting in the way.

I would actually like to see Copeland back on the DL, if not this year then next year.

Good god, how is Copeland going to fit through any hole at 280?

He is going to make a hole. Short yardage like having and extra Guard.

Well, he was much smaller last year and didn't carry his weight well on lead blocks. Especially in the Cotton Bowl...don't see how gaining more weight is going to help him when he was consistently whiffing on blocks like Stampley.
