Hurst at 340? Goodnight. That is freaking huge for college. I hope he's in shape.

Both Brockers and Johnson are over 300 lbs. Don't know how that is exactly light in the middle but........whatever

True but- you guys are not worried about the lack of size of the backups? Seems we get small quickly when these guys go out.

would be nice to have one of those big 330lb+ space eaters in the middle. Don't know why we never seem to be able to recruit, or build in the weight program, one or two of those types every now and then.

Watch his high school highlight, dude is quick as hell and has a burst not many have.

As for his lateral movement, we'll have to see.

If he doesn't come up big for us I'll be upset that we let Worle walk. I would have liked to see Copeland stay on DL and Worle be our FB

240lbs seems like a lot

Do we redshirt him?
Les said yesterday he needs to lose some weight. RS is a good guess.

We did. Al Woods and Chris Davenport were both those types, but neither panned out. 330 is fricking huge for a college kid. Chances are if you're that big, you're fat and not athletic enough to play. 330+ pounders are for grown men in the NFL, not college.

Alex Hurst should loan 10 of those pounds to Will Blackwell.

I feel Chavis values DT's that are very disruptive and can pass rush over a guy who takes up space and just plays the run. I would, however, like to see us having one or two of those mammoth Tennessee NT's such as Henderson and Haynesworth. Maybe Brockers can get that big by his senior year.

I hope that we can just have a decent pass rush up the middle this year from our DT's. If we don't, there should be some need for concern, especially against a team like Oregon. A middle pass rush can demolish their offensive philosophy.

4. (6’4, 235) JR. Tyler Edwards
5. (6’3, 230) rFR. Travis Dickson
6. (6’5, 253) rFR. Nic Jacobs

Is it me, or with a tight end group like that, should so many people keep worrying about our "lack" of receivers. If we can incorporate these guys right, we could be unstoppable.

al woods wasn't 330 lbs when he came out

we made him lose weight and tried to turn him into a 1-gap player and it was a failure

that's why we don't have huge DTs. just isn't our system. that's why when we do get huge DTs, they bust quite often

the NFL laughs at this

there are plenty of fat DTs doing quite well in the NFL. i think they're a little more advanced that college

No doubt. Maybe the key to the entire season is the ability of the DTs to get penetration and be disruptive behind the LOS. Not just pass rush, but they need to be able to blow up running plays as well.

i don't know how many of those TEs are decent WRs

i think clement and joseph are blockers only

edwards/dickson are unproven

yes it made no sense

your post:

you are acting like you can't be great and fat at DT

this weight isn't from "being a man." it's from being fat (something a person of any age can accomplish)
