They called that gun an "AK sniper" 1000 times and never one time said it wasnt shooting a typical AK round (7.62x39)

Same thoughts here. I was thinking how in the hell are they going to shoot a 7.62x39 at 1000 yds?? Oh and it already exists they weren't the first. The Russians and the Chinese have been using the Druganov SVD for years it shoots a 7.62x54R and operates off of an AK type action. I have one sitting at my house

2800 for that sniper ak really isnt a bad deal
Considering what they did to make it, I thought it was downright cheap.

I know they arent trying to only cater to gun people but at least say "we'll be using a .308 for this because a typical AK round will be in the dirt at 400 yards". They always say "this is the first time this has been done..." No, it's the first time it's been done the goofy way you are going to do it. Masterkeys have been around a long time without a Saiga hanging off the bottom. This weeks episode...see Romanian PSL, Daugunov, etc... I like what they do but they should be more factual.

And what's with Will telling Vince to "pack tools" becuase he wanted to fit the krieger barrel with the proper equipment?? jeez..

Yea that was a little much.. If you wanna make a "tactical" tommy gun, great.. but dont play it off like your supplying 25 of them to the WBR Sheriff Dept..

Will is a lot nicer on TV than he can be in real life. Im sure you can imagine all the people that have wasted his time over the years, so anyone would develop that personality. You may not know, but he was robbed a couple of times when he had the shop and indoor range on Choctaw. I used to go shoot over there and came in the day after the second burglary. Apparently Will was at the shop when some dude broke in and tried to make off with two handfulls of rifles. The story i got is that Will chased him out the store, hopped on the guys vehicle, incapacitaed the vehicle, and held the guy at gunpoint till the police got on the scene. Say what you want to about the guy, but he takes care of business!

Oh i have no prblems with Will personally and I'm sure he's a tough SOB. Hell he's a Marine...

I think most of the things I mentioned above are a result of what Discovery wants them to do/say.

Red Jacket does fine work no doubt. If their turnaround wasnt 15 years now I would love to have them re work one of my Century AK's...

I don't really care for the show. Never really impressed me and I am far from a gun nut. I was watching the sniper show and I commented to my wife that this episode looked really interesting.

FLOP!!!

They are suppose to be making a 1000 yard sniper rifle which means it must be accurate. The day before delivery they still had not even tested the gun at distance??? Not the kind of deal I want when buying a sniper rifle!!!

Then they take a sniper out to put the gun through its paces. They shoot a less than impressive group at 100 yards and then that is it!!!! Are you kidding me! I understand the explosives and crap is for TV but hell, let me see what kind of group this gun can put up at 500 yards or something... anything!!!

All I can figure is that the accuracy sucked and they didn't want to put that on tv?

Less than impressed with the show or the people on it. One shop worker even said what a tight group when they shot it for the first time at 15 yards and the group was horrible. (scope loose)

How does someone work on guns for a living and think a 1 inch group at 15 yards is impressive???
