Have had it in Corpus and Austin - and I think Izzo's is substantially better.

Chipotle is also coming to Tyler as well. About to open.

I hate Qdoba.
I hate Izzo's.

So it's likely I'll hate this place

Freebirds, the originator of the idea, is much beter than Izzo's (which has the exact same menu, btw. The founder of Izzos' is a total clown and copied the Freebirds menu and idea identically)

LINK

Regardless, Chipotle is far better than Qdoba. My favorite chain ever.

And here's a little freebirds trivia. The original location at texas a&m was opened by the cousin of the founder of kinkos. I wish freebirds would expand up here. I loved that place when I suffered in college station for eight miserable months.

I like the mexican subway concept.. I don't really care what sticker is on the wrapper.

MC, any idea if/when Slidell is going to get one?

fricking right!!!!
When I lived in Houston for 6 months I loved this place. Better than Izzos and Qdoba for sure. I'll have to see how it stacks up against Zippy's

Now that is something I agree with you on . If I want Mexican taco type of food, I just make my own. If I want fancier Latin food, I'll go eat at a place like Maya's or Baru.

Fuzzy Taco's (no pun intended) is lackluster as well.

Yeah, that's basically my thing. I'm the opposite. I hate the Mexican Subway concept because the rare times I eat Mexican, I like it dirty and messy and .. idk.. mexican-y. lol.
These places are too fresh for my taste. I know that sounds horrible because fresh is usually good, but I am just not a fan.

Qdoba's creepy tortillas give me the eebie jeebies.

THeres not one in corpus. Corpus just got a Freebird burrito, not a Chipotle.

Good point.

And to address his post, everyone copies from everyone. The two chains don't even overlap territories.

I can bet from the time the Freebirds hippies started out in Santa Barbara in 87 to the time they opened up in TAM, they copied stuff from anything good they saw. And well they should.

Awesome, love Chipotle. My order of preference:

1. Chipotle- great guac.
2. Bullrito
3. Qdoba- good queso
4. Izzo's- least favorite
