In '09 we couldn't get any closer than Meredian, MS, and there were plenty of Tigers there. Granted, it was a last minute trip, but I sure would have preferred to be closer to Tuscaloosa.

This past time they redid the floors...wood laminate throughout, even the damn bathrooms. It's just a place to crash and shower, don't sweat it!

I've stayed at M6's all over the country and have rarely had problems with the rooms themselves. It's the various varieties of human debris that's the problem. Good luck trying to get a good nights sleep there. (Arguments, fights, barking dogs in rooms, booming stereos in the parking lot, etc...)

After the 2009 game and dealing with the stadium, the seats and the refs, I will never go to Tuscaloosa again. The way the SEC give Alabama every benefit possible, I'd rather spend my $$$ anywhere else. Is it as bad as WMS in Arkansas, take your pick.

If it's the one right next to the interstate, I was kicked out of there in 2001. They have no patience for LSU fans enjoying a win over the Tide.

Yep. It's pretty rough. Put the lock on the door and shove some furniture in front of it. Hang the "Not buying drugs" sign on the door handle.

Dude,

If you find out anything about Motel 6 in Tuscaloosa, let me know. I'm booked in the same joint for the Bama game. The only reviews I've read indicate the place is a real bucket of blood.

this happened to me as well.

I eventually bitched my way into a room with a single bed.

Place was a shithole. Most of the doors have been kicked in at some point.

I'd rather sleep in my car.

+100

Stayed here in 2009, and no joke when we pulled up to check there were cops there. The room was absolutely nasty. No way in hell I would stay there again!

Soooooo..... If it seemed pretty bad, why consider it?

Drive 15-20 min out of town and stay at a holiday inn express or something. It's not the only hotel/motel in that area. Just look around.

I just called and cancelled my reservation and the lady on the phone asked "why is everyone canceling their hotel for November 5th?"

Has anyone found any other places to stay? Everything on hotels.com is around 300 per night which is kinda pricey.

any problems with roaches etc when you stayed? Is it in the ghetto?

It is what it is, a motel 6. Never noticed any roaches, but I was too drunk to care.

It's right off the interstate and not in the ghetto...from what I could tell.
