I just think he's become a bit of a scapegoat. He's bad but I don't think he's as bad as some people make him out to be.

right now I would start him. Mainly because I think we need Boca in the middle. Gooch is borderline done. Ream isn't ready. Boca-Goodson is the best pairing at the moment IMO. So that leaves us without a left back and I'd rather we put Bornstein there than Lichaj or Spector.

This would be my first team at the moment.

Altidore Agudelo

Dempsey Edu Bradley Donovan

Bornstein Boca Goodson Cherundolo

Howard

I'm getting to the point where I don't like Edu or Jones. But Jones was so awful today that I would go with Edu.

A Holden-Bradley partnership is something to be excited about but obviously its not happening now.

Cherundolo and Bocangera

That's our best bet now, but the thought of two 35 year old defenders in Brazil scares me.

I just love the variety of options they give in the middle. Both can defend their asses off, both can strike from deep, Stu gets out wide really well, and Bradley is a bit better on the long ball. They complement each other so well.

frick YOU JOHNNY EVANS YOU SON OF A BITCH!!!!

If they are playing then, we're screwed. I hope Chandler stays with us.

The discussion about him during the game today scared me. Can't we just give them back Jermaine Jones instead?

I like Bradley, Holden, and Donovan in the midfield. Not entirely sure who the other guy should be. I think Dempsey is better up top, but that dream may be done. I want Agudelo playing with the first team more.

I like Dempsey in the midfield. He basically becomes a third central midfielder but that's okay because we need his control and creativity in the middle.

The problem is we don't have good strikers. Jozy was passive, again. Agudelo tried harder but looked a bit naive today. Of course that's understandable at his age.

its fine to move Clint up to play as a second striker later in the game but I don't like any of our replacement options for him in the midfield when he does that. Bedoya and Kljestan are just average at best. Rogers is awful.

Donovan, Holden, Bradley, and one other. I'm sure we could find someone. I just think Dempsey playing as an attacker would give us an actual shot at scoring goals. Agudelo creates chances and has shown some ability to put the ball in the net. I'm getting tired of waiting for Altidore to make the plays. I actually thought he had some nice plays in the world cup, but the fact is, we're playing a lot of games with a lone striker who can't score.

But who? frick, I'd be willing to try Freddy at this point. Why not?

I would probably prefer a 4-4-1-1/4-2-3-1 with Dempsey playing as a second striker/attacking central midfielder because lets face it, we don't have even one good striker at this moment, much less two.

But I don't know who we'd stick on the left.

And I'm talking about what to do now. Obviously Holden is a starter IMO when he's available.

Due to the mini-tornado/power outage, I saw none of the game. It's probably better this way

What were they saying about Timmy Chandler though? I have a lot of trouble seeing Germany capping him when you look at a) how little he has played in the Bundesliga and b) how much depth they have.

A few guys have given reason for optimism. I'm still hoping Jose Torres does better. I'm not sure if he's playing horribly or what else is going on, but I'm hoping he gets things together at some point.

they just mentioned it in passing, Harkes said there had been some twitter rumors about Germany being interested.

Does Brek Shea ever play left back?

We need an attacking left back desperately. I like Dempsey on the left but that's a bit of a misnomer, he doesn't play out wide, so we need a full back who can get forward and provide width on the left. Boca is not that guy now, and will be older and slower in 2014.

The team looked exactly like they did against Brazil in October.

Half the guys weren't on the field, and the ones that were looked like they wish they weren't.

Stargazing, ballwatching, wandering around aimlessly.

I think you see the importance of having players with "industry" on the field. Bradley, Cherundolo, Bocanegra all play with some frickING passion.

Give me eleven players leaving it on the field, you can keep the eleven "most skilled."

Not much else to add about the game. I didn't dislike the Cherundolo/Spector pairing on the right.

That pissed me off. I said they looked lethargic and uninspired the whole game. It was annoying.

I watched the game. Sad display by the U.S. younger players.

I feel bad for the guys. It was interesting to see some U.S. players I wasn't familiar with. I thought Spector played pretty decently. Alot better than most of the defenders. Gotta feel bad for Tim Howard the man is a great gk but wasn't given a chance to show it today. America needs to find a decent striker. I liked Agudelo's (sp?) performance when given a chance he looked good. Bradley and Dempsey made the side look so much better.

IMO, Ream is absolutely, hands down, 100% the worst player on the pitch right now.

Ream and Rodgers (sp?) were imho.

Jones should get some votes for worst player of the day.
