and are you aware of what it takes and what is done to take a 2 inch cut of meat to well done?

Curious, because I've known a few people in my life who actually prefer a well done steak, and not sure they are aware of what kitchens do to make it well done.

What could one possibly get out of a well done steak that you can't get from a piece of beef jerky? I don't understand it at all.

My dad does, cause he likes it that way, why do people worry so much about how other people eat?

Cause, when I'm out drink'n Bud Light runn'n my nets, I want jerky, and when I'm taking people that are special to me out to some nice steak place, like Applebees or Chilis and sippin on higher priced and higher class stuff like Kewrs Light, I want my steak cooked well done.. If I'm paying that much for a steak, I, at least want them to cook it all the way. With a piece of undercooked steak, from a fancy place, you don't get your moneys worth...

My sister refuses to eat anything other than well done.

The last time I had the whole family over for dinner, I decided to grill steaks. I told everyone that they would all be either rare or medium rare. She refused to eat it. I refused to ruin a good steak. So I threw some frozen chicken tenders in the oven for her like I would a 12 year old.

My wife does. We rarely order a steak out, but I burn them for her, the kids and I laugh at and ridicule her, she eats it...we're all happy.

I won't cook her a 2 inch steak. I cook her the worst piece of meat I have, generally. It won't make a difference...it's all shoe leather by the time she picks up a fork. And she'll love it.

I order my steak medium.
My wife likes steak well done but she doesn't order steak in restaurants. She just has me cook them well done at home.
When dining out she goes for sea food.

Why do you care? seriously?

If people want to order a well done steak, let em. They obviously like it that way.

If I was with someone who ordered well done, and the chef refused to cook it that way, I'd never go back to that restaurant.

Cook it the way they want it. Your job and livelihood rely on keeping customers happy. Not being a snobbish prick. (Not to you, to said chef.)

Wife orders well done AND uses Ketchup. It drives me insane that I essentially waste $30.00 on her meal She gets it from her parents though. Her father accidentally cooked a steak medium and the fam was embarassed that I did not tell them my steak was still pink in the center. I've suggested that next time we go to a nice steakhouse, we'll just pick up some Chicken McNuggets for her on the way there.

well done steaks are not for the feint of heart, the steaks raw blood is less gross than what happens to a well well well in a restaurant kitchen, ill leave it at that

Haha. When I was still on the line we threw any well done steak directly into the fryer then on the grill where it quickly caught fire. Sent that hockey puck out with some ketchup. Honestly, the deep frying kept the steak kind of moist...who knew?
