Likelihood of having new baseball and basketball coaches after 2011-12 season?

If we have the same type of season in basketball next year, TJ is gone- I would love the option of Bruce Pearl, personally.

If we have another year in baseball like we have this year, I think it's safe to say for now that PM will be fired. Three years in a row of poor SEC play and no home regional will be enough for Tiger fans, imo. Not particularly sure what Alleva would do here- chances are he goes after current Vandy head coach.

Who are your favorite options for head coaches in these two programs?

Hmm. This thread doesn't seem to be going the way you intended.

For Mainieri, it really depends on if he gets new assistants, if so, he'll get another year after next.....if he doesn't and they have another year like this one, he would be done IMO

I have no choice in the matter depends on whos available when and if that happens but Pearl would bring the wrong message to LSU just like Kiffin is doing to USC.

So most of you are saying chances are, if the results are the same after next season, these two coaches wouldn't lose their job? That's asinine- especially for the $$$ they are making.

$$$ could be the very reason. LSU is hurting finacially they can't afford a Mainieri buy out. It would take a Dinardo type fall and attitude for that to happen and thats at least 2 more seasons away. Remember his new contract after the Championship.

I think Manieri has 2 more years if things dont turn around. Of course if he does then he could be here for a very long time.

I think Trent is gone. Dont think he has enough talent to win more than 5 games. Cant imagine they would keep him with 3 straight pitiful SEC seasons.

NO way PM is gone. If TJ shows any improvement whats so ever, he will stay.

Mainieri and Johnson are too likeable to fire IMO.

Hopefully they get things turned around.
